I went traveling around the east end of the city today. I haven't been in that area too often and today was such a beautiful day. And as usual I took my camera. With all the leaves gone things are looking pretty drab.
But I spotted this little fellow busy at work bringing his harvest home.
Some of those pinecones are as big as the chipmunk. I watched when he picked it up and put it in his mouth to carry back to his stockpile - which was higher than him which and why he is balanced on the tree. With his front paws he would grab the cone out of his mouth and turn it around so he could put the other end in his mouth before piling it on his little loot pile.
I have no idea what he is going to do with them all but he sure was busy. He didn't even seem to mind me sitting there taking his picture.
