  i have been sworn to secrecy on a couple of matters that will soon be evident in this regard.

  sorry to be 'cryptic' here - but timing is everything when one is trying to bring the very serious [and often ignored in the press] matter of child sexual abuse to the fore.

  because Witnesses viewed sexual child abuse as a “sin” not a crime; Men who molested were sinners—not criminals—and there were rules in place how to deal with sinners, though attitudes have changed on this subject due to recent publicity

  I usually try to stay away from these kinds of threads because they hit so close to home. I was sexually abused by my uncle from the age of 4 to 10. I finally got the guts at 17 to let my family know what was going on. I was ridiculed and treated like I was the one who had done wrong. My uncle was NOT df'd and he was welcomed into my parents' home time and time again after I outed him. The elders in my cong. asked me if I could forgive him and I told them "no, not at this time". I still haven't forgiven him for his sick and twisted mind.

  I am glad someone with the resources is speaking out publicly for the abused children of this cult. Thanks Jeff for keeping us up to date.

  My son and daughter...making me proud...

  my 9 year old son decides back in april that the memorial is going to be his last meeting at the kingdomhall.

  so... he refuses to go to the meetings, and when forced to go - leaves the meeting right after the song and starts walking to my mother-in-law's house a couple of blocks away where he knows my sypathetic father-in-law (a raging catholic, not a jw) will have sympathy on him and say "nevermind, just leave him here with me when you go to the meetings from now on.

  " the next week - the garbage man visits to collect the trash in front of the house - and my son had taken all of his meeting clothes, pants, suit jackets, ties, dress socks, etc... and left them all curbside for the trash man to pick up.

  How Honest Are You Really???

  here's the scenario: you buy an item and it's on sale for 10% off the original price.

  a new cashier charges you, instead of 10% off, 10 cents!

  this happened to a woman who bought a leather coat among other things and when she reviewed her slip she knew absolutely that the new cashier messed up.

  This is what happened to me.

  It was late, I had just helped my brother move. I was tired, sticky, stinky and just plain grubby. I pulled in to the grocery to get 2 items, shampoo and cat food. As I was getting out of my car, my cell rang. I almost didn't answer it but it was my mom. She proceeds to chatter about stuff that I have no control over and it gets me a little worked up. I grab my two items and proceed to walk out of the store. I WALK OUT OF THE STORE, with my Shampoo and Cat Food. I get halfway to my car and tell my mom that i've just stolen something and I have to let her go. I hang up on her while she is in shock at my statement, turn around, get in line and pay for my stuff. I could have easily gone home. No one even gave me a second glance, no one came to chase me down in the parking lot.

  I feel I did the right thing. I also called my mom and explained to her what happened. She was a mess by the time I called her back.

  I just completely lost it with my father!!!

  my mums mum is very sick, she has been in hospital the last month with really bad infection, they have tried every time of antibiotics to get rid of it.

  this last week she has refused to eat and drink, she told my mum she was tired of all of this, and basically said her goodbyes the other night.. we went in on saturday to see her, my mum was there, and even tho it was a little strained we managed to talk for a few hours it was nice to see her.. i got a phone call off my dad's mum today saying that my nan was deteriorating, so i msg my mum to see if this was true, it wasnt, my nan likes to dramatise things, my mum promised me she would keep me updated.

  i received a phone call about an hour ago from my nan (dads mum) saying that the infection has cleared up and that she is improving and eating and drinking.

  ES, hugs for you for having to deal with hard headed parents. Also, many congrats on your pregnancy.

  I bet they lay awake at nights wondering how to keep that angry creature at bay.

  Jgnat, thanks for my laugh today. Every time I get all worked up my husband just keeps saying "I love you" over and over. It's so funny to see him in that position, he literally backs away from me.
