I have a friend in her 60's, she is very thin, and works out. I think she looks great in her jeans, however, in the yoga pants, not so much. 60 is not 20 no matter how thin you are.

I just remembered that my Brother-in-law had his car stolen in Naples. He stopped to toss out some trash (they don't have regular trash service in Naples), they struck him down, jumped into his car and drove off. I'm sure this could happen anywhere, but from what I understand, a little more common in Italy, especially in Naples.

I saw an interview with one of the young men who are making these claims. He struck me as credible. He said "I could not take enough showers to wash the stink of his cologne off of me". I think you can't rush to judgement, but the fact that there are many young men who describe the same kind of behavior make it seem that there is some truth to this. I also saw some picture of Mr. long showing off his very buff body in spandex, nothing wrong with that by itself, but seems odd for a minister. He should at least take a leave of absence until the charges are proved or not proved. It seems wrong that he is being cheered by his congregation.

Have you ever had " a moment of clarity"?
by elderelite inthese moments are something that not eveyone has experianced, but if you have they are with you every day.
a true moment of clarity is not something you live once.
you live it every time you think of it.

I've had two. My first I was on a trip with my ex, it was supposed to be a romantic weekend at the beach. He said something that just struck me as kind of stupid. I thought, I don't know this man, I don't love this man, I don't even like this man. I realized I couldn't live like this the rest of my life. It was very clear to me. It was hard after 28 years of marriage and the JW brainwashing. I knew I had to leave, but it was hard. This went on for 6 months.
My second ephiphany was when it hit met hat I had stayed because the org had always said it ALWAYS better to stay married. I realized that was completly stupid, I wasn't better off, my ex wasn't better off, and my kids hadn't been better off. I wasted 28 years of my life, for what? I lost my faith that day. It had been a long time coming, but that was the day that it all came together for me. I left the org, left my ex and never looked back. It was the best thing I ever did.

What is your favourite boardgame?
by Caedes ini have recently been playing a number of interesting boardgames, most often agricola although le havre, pandemic, ticket to ride, carcassonne and space hulk have been popular too.. there are some very interesting card games out as well such as dominion and race for the galaxy.. i am looking forward to playing the great fire of london and merchants & marauders whenever i can get hold of them.. i particularly like agricola because it isn't very confrontational as a game, obviously there is a winner but you can have fun playing even if you come last.
some games you only win by destroying the other players ability to do anything interesting when playing the game, risk or monopoly for example.
anybody else have any particular favourite boardgame?

I'm a trivial pursuit kind of girl. It still amazes me that I can't remember s*** about my day to day live, but I can still remember stupid trivia from the 60's. My husband won't play with me because I always win.

Have You Ever Texted While Driving?
by minimus inas of today , it is illegal in mass.
and for good reason, although i have been guilty of it..

I don't text much and never while driving. I try not to talk on the phone while driving, but have a few times, it's not a good thing. I've heard the laws banning texting while driving don't work. People just hide the phone, so the police cannot see them, so it actually results in more accident (they have to look down more than if the phone was at steering wheel height). It's scary, I've seen people text and drive and it's not good driving. I've heard you are pretty much as impaired as if you were driving drunk. Talking while driving also causes impairment, but not at much.

What if God's existence was PROVEN TO BE TRUE?
by nicolaou inthis isn't a 'prove god exists' thread, it's a 'what if' thread .
what if god's existence could be proven beyond any doubt?
what if god were to actually show himself so that nobody could doubt his existence?.

Well, I for one would have a lot of hard questions.
Like why did you create mankind just to allow people to suffer? I don't buy the JW argument that it was to prove satan wrong - it just doesn't work for me. What kind of God would allow the evil that has gone on in the world just to prove a point, that would be cruel. In my mind, centuries of suffering by mankind automatically precludes an all powerful, loving God.

I heard a joke about driving in Italy and I can confirm (at leat in part). In Florence, traffic lights are obeyed, in Rome they are considered suggestions, in Naples they are considered Christmas decorations. Naples drivers were crazy - I saw two cars almost collide, then they both slowed down to about 30 MPH (on the freeway) while they rolled their windows down and made comments and rude gestures to each other. Very funny. I wouldn't dive in Naples, Rome was risky, but the other areas seemed OK.
