  Hi Zip and welcome,

  There are many people your age here. Stick around and learn, do some research here and we will muster up all the love you want. Don't expect perfectionism, it doesn't exist in man as you well know. There are many people here who are still searching, some who are done, some who will later, some who gave up. The most important thing to know is that we all share a common bond.....the watchtower....some are still in and some are not, some never were.....but we try not to jugde...that is not up to us. The love here is unconditional for the most part. Glad to meet you. dj

  i went to a funeral in a church this past weekend.

  the first time i have been in a church in 27 years, because of fear instilled by the wtbs.

  this was a dear friend of mine, she was well liked, many, many people at the funeral.

  That's quite a name you've chosen for yourself. I hope you don't think that way about yourself. It sounds to me like you did what you were taught to do by going to the elders when your girlfriend was being abused. I'm sure that when your mom allowed her to move into her home it saved the poor girl from a lot more suffering. Hats off to you! dj

  Yes, I have to agree with everything that you said. I also forgot to tell you that I think your father was a wise man who gave you wonderful advice. I have finally been given the understanding that following Jesus is not achievable by following the watchtower. It is a heavy burden and flip flops in rules while claiming to be the only organization that Jehovah guides is ludicrous now. I was fooled by their teachings for a very long time. Not quite as long as you but for twenty some years.When I read Matt 11:28-29 for the first time, I cried literally. It was at that moment when I really wanted to do just as Jesus said to do. I was concerned of course because I did not know how I could "come to him". I was taught that he was Michael the Archangel, so that belief caused me to be in a position of considering praying to an angel. I knew that was wrong. It would not be worshipping the true God if I prayed to someone else, would it? I was fearful, are you?

  GOING TO GIVE MY OWN BLOOD

  i'm going to the blood bank today to donate my own blood for my upcoming surgery.

  what's the society's viewpoint on storing your own blood?

  i don't see anything in the bible that would hint there's anything wrong with re-using your own blood.......

  I agree with your decision. I think that it has to be done well in advance, though. Have you checked with your doc? I'm sorry to hear that you are sick and I hope that all goes well. Joy is correct about hemopure. I read an newspaper article about a man who was a jw and the hospital liason comn. allowed this cow blood. Unbelievable, huh. Best wishes. dj

  I'm not interested in hijacking Francois's thread. I meant what I said and I don't recall crying about anything. I just think that you can be extremely rude when someone diagrees with you and it sets a poor example, that's all. Oh by the way, yes I can read and I don't like how you write the majority of the time. We all make mistakes and lose our cool at times. You are no different but it's always a good idea to own up to it. For whatever it's worth.......I thought that Joy overreacted in her response to you but two wrongs don't make a right, do they? IMO your far outweighed her nastiness.
