does anyone find it odd that it seems there's less of a vocal apostate movement for scientology and mormons.
i'm getting this from google - i can't seem to find any majour forums like this one, or websites that are regularly updated exposing doctrines etc.. there is stuff out there, but from my search at least it doesn't seem to be as much as jw's.. strange considering mormons have 13 mill (?).
scientologists 'claim' 8 mill.. .
I work for a company owned by Mormons, 90% of the workers are Mormons and even though i find them so brainwashed by their religion and a pain the ass to work for, all position of leadership are filled by their "brothers" and there is no hope of advancement.
I do find them to be much more reasonable than the JW.
They definitely believe in higher education and they do not ostracize those that get DF. they will talk to them and are very kind to them with the hope of bringing them back.

i don't speak against the organization to any witnesses.
i do talk candidly to other inactive ones who feel the same way.
You are one of us if you don't believe in the unique teachings of the watchtower...that means apostate.

$17000 bill...that's a lot of money. Many people have traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to have major work down and saving about 60 to 70%.
There are many dental clinics right across the border, very clean with modern equipment and they all speak English.

i have served 20 years as an elder, 5 years as an ms. was on the district committee in 2010, held various positions on the district , circuit, and rbc level.
probably been on more than 100 judicial committees and even an appeals committee.
was the coordinator in our congregation and deleted because adult child was df ( i kicked him out at the time of his wrongdoing, but that wasn't enough for thr brothers).

Two months away. Sex is good but not as horny as i was 10 years ago. Lots of racquetball playing, i stay away from religion and i don't worry about death and after life. Life is better now than before.

for me the argument is more just interesting from a biblical and academic stand point.
Just read the New World Translation and you will notice that Jesus and the apostles NEVER used God's name.
The watchtower added it 232 times in the Greek scriptures.
Who is correct the GB or the apostles?

as a born-in 1914 is a date stamped into my head that is pretty much the foundation of our religious beliefs.
nearly everything that sets jw's apart from everyone is this date of 1914. forget all the chronology that proves that daniels prophecy and the 2520 years is incorrect - there is far worse damning evidence that makes this date useless and in error.. with the magazine that shines new light on the whole faithful slave thing - charles taze russell is no longer a member of that faithful slave class that jesus is using to feed his people./ by getting rid of russell the no doubt were able to distance themselves from all his crazy ramblings and teachings that are appearing all over the internet.
Eventually the GB will also scrap 1914 doctrine. They are not stupid, they also use google and they know they are wrong with the idiotic doctrine.
Somehow in due time they will find a way for "new light" to be revealed and try not to shock the rank and file too much.
They have been playing the game for 140 years...they are experts at it.
i have some family and friends still in the organization.
i don't actively seek updates - my lovely contacts provide me with them unsolicited.
so far the updates have been reliable and confirmed sooner or later by subsequent developments.
No matter what the watchtower does they will not be able to stop low attendance. Old folks are dying off and we are dealing with a new
generation of young witnesses with iphones and internet and access to JWFACTS and all the videos on youtube that expose the Watchtower.
They can baptize them at 13-14 but eventually many of them will have their eyes open and move on with their lives.
i have recently been having a feeling of guilt for having escaped the w.t while so many friends and family remain trapped.. has anyone else ever had similar feelings?.
JW's are intelligent people and if they stop and just "meditate" on the doctrines and use common sense they will come to the conclusion
that the watchtower is just another religion . Just another interpretation of the bible .
Don't feel sorry for any of them. The bible says to "make sure of all things' and "prove to yourself the good and acceptable will of God"
Most don't do that!
