  i live in the tropics so we experience hot and rainy weather.

  Well I did give the scriptures. I'll write out what it says...

  Genesis 1:6-8:

  6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

  7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

  8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

  So we have the water on Earth, heaven (or 'sky' in other versions), then the water canopy. Water, heaven, water. Following so far?

  Then in Genesis 1:16,17 it says:

  16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

  17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

  This means that the stars, sun and moon are between the Earth and the water canopy. It's there plain as day- God set them in the firmament of the heaven. You know, that firmament between the two waters.

  Now, stars are billions of light years away, they are not in our atmosphere (I hope you can agree with me on that point). This means that the water canopy had to be outside our universe.

  Perhaps you didn't read all of the post. The Bible says God made the sun, moon and stars BETWEEN the canopy and Earth. This must mean the canopy you speak of is outside our universe... right? The stars are billions of lightyears away, they aren't within our atmosphere!

  That's about as much as I can dumb it down without saying gaga goo goo.

  GOOD NEWS! Scientists to create human/animal embryos for research in the UK

  i know it's emotive and i know some will fundamentally disagree that this is good news at all but i believe it is.. .

  from the bbc; regulators have agreed in principle to allow human-animal embryos to be created and used for research.

  but scientists wanting to use hybrids will still need to make individual applications, the human fertilisation and embryology authority said.

  Excellent news! It will be interesting to see if those in power in the US will take the cures if they become available, or whether they'll stick to their 'religious morality' and refuse to be hypocrites. Time will tell.

  The creation story in Genesis can be picked apart in many ways, but I wonder if you could just answer this one question for me, Hibie...

  God has the water on the Earth, and he has water above the Earth, and inbetween a firmament called 'sky' or 'heaven' (according to the KJV). Water, sky, water... (Genesis 1:6-8).

  Then on the fourth day, God makes two great lights (which I presume means the sun and moon) and the stars and he sets them in the firmament of the sky. (Genesis 1:16,17)

  If this is so, does this mean that the canopy of water above the Earth was actually outside the known universe?

  Why leave out some of God's creatures?

  one thing i've noticed in the wt paradise pics is that they leave out many of god's wonderful creatures.

  why aren't there more pictures of children petting cockroaches, tickling the bellies of snails and letting scorpions sit on their shoulders?

  if every animal is made by god, why be biased and leave some out?.

  Spiders catching stray leaves in their webs, skunks letting off pleasing smells, mosquitoes eating grass, people having picnics next to ants nests...

  Why do they discriminate?
