Hold your head up, be proud of what you have accomplished, and if you were one of my kids, I would be throwing a huge party for you and all your friends.

my uncle just informed me that a talk given 2 months ago "obedience or innovation" by the co sent chills up his spine.
this talk is apparently making the rounds delivered by all co's and is part of what seems to be a get in or be shunned renewed effort.
it is the same talk that apparently sent my mom over the edge with me after 30 years out.

I feel this is not the the proper place to be posting, but here goes:
I did not understand your experience with Hospice. When I was helping nurse my Father and hospice was involved they were amazing. They could not have been more giving, understanding or loving.
My father was on liquid morphine which is monitered by the Feds. When he died I had to verify that the last of the drug was flushed down the toilet by the care taker....which it was.
I will never forget Playing Chopins' Fantasie Impromptu for him.....He loved it. I was in the middle of playing and he died when the Hospice nurse came in and stopped me. I have never been able to play it through again.
For those of you who are familiar with music, this is one of his most difficult pieces.
I am sorry for anyone here losing anyone to cancer. IT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE.

I have a floating bed story, experienced by myself, ...but it didn't float, it was spinning.
I am not ready to tell this story tonight, maybe tomorrow. I will eventually give you the particulars. Extreme 3rd generation family, visiting Bethel bigwig to our home, my bedroom given to him....me relegated to a matress in the basement.
Scary stuff even now.

when i was a teenager we had these two annointeds in our hall, man and woman, very very gung-ho elder, pioneer type.
well, they had an affair for many years and then got df...i always wondered, if god chose them to be annointed, did he now reject them.....or did they just take a break, because as soon as they got reinstats they were partaking again?????
what was the official stance on that???
My uncle who was one of the annointed was disfellowshiped for practicing homosexuality. (During the early 70's) Approximately 15 years later he was reinstated. He is now in his mid 80's. Still very involved with Bethelites, and has many connections.
I have posted this before: when asked by the family about his standing he is very vague. The picture we all get is he is no longer one of the anointed. There is never a straight answer.
The entire subject is shrouded in secrecy. He is a famous pianist for a very exclusive club in a major city that he has played in for many years.
I know this does not answer your question, or our own family's. The WBTS has made this one of those mysteries not available to the R and F.
It all stinks as far as I am concerned.

OK, 2 things.
First, I was president of a Condo association and quit outright after 8 months, writing a very nasty letter to the remaining Board and all 250 residents and then promptly moving out.
Second, which you all have probably figured out by now.....I have a couple glasses of cabernet and start posting on this site. As the evening goes on my spelling, logic and sentence structure disintegrate. But I do adore you all!

some years ago my brother was disfellowshipped.
not for apostasy, but for more mundane reasons.
he has not had the internet, he has not studied the bible much since being disfellowshipped, he has been feeling guilty and considering returning for the last six months.. i had no way of contacting him, having lost touch in the midst of his many moves.

for those of you who know me a little from my posting here, i guess you could correctly say that i am a totally committed gearhead.
so, this thread will probably come as a shock, because something happened to someone i know that caused me to do a "voice of reason" post on the subject of fast cars in the hands of people with more money than brains.. my current cars are a 1995 corvette zr1, a 1996 porsche 911 targa, a 2004 corvette z06, a mazda miata, and a nissan 240sx, all black on black.. the porsche is maintained by a local independent dealer who holds the dallas franchise for the german supertuner ruf.
if you do not know this company, on history channel a while back was a segment on the speed-limitless german autobahn.
I will ever forget being on the Audobon in Germany and hearing the sound of a Ferrari come up behind us. It drowned out the radio. There was no ignoring that machine!
I don't think there is anything more thrilling than a fast car. I grew up with gear heads, my father always had sports cars as far back as I can remember. His last was a 1934 Ford Coupe roadster with an exposed engine so low to the ground at the front end I think it was maybe 3 inches off the pavement.
Fast cars are addictive and so is the feeling when you are thrown back into your seat as it takes off. Dangerous yes. Worth the risk? There are plenty of hobbies out there more dangerous in my mind.
Although my car is not the calibre of yours, my 2005 Mustang GT gives me a thrill every time we hit an on ramp onto a major highway, or at an open stop light, with the street wide open in front of you.
Both my brothers were car and Harley fanatics. My middle brother died on a Harley. He was an excellent rider and was asked to check out a friends bike. At 80 the chain snapped and he hit a median in Chicago.
There are risks to any thrill what ever they may be.
If you go out smiling, that may not be so bad.

Heres a funny story.
Many years ago I was in New York on business alone, late at night in an old hotel room reading the book "The Shining". This was before the movie ever came out. The book was much more detailed and hair raising. I was at the part where the shower curtain was pulled to the side to reveal some bloody massacre in the tub. At that very moment I heard the shower rings being scraped across the rod in my bathroom. I didn't sleep all night.
I thought for sure it was the demons and I was paying for reading such a book.
The next morning I heard the same sound while in the bathroom......It was coming from the next room, the bathrooms shared a wall.
I was so relieved! :)

trev and i both gave up smoking around a month ago.
we didn't tell many people, hoping that would stop those of our friends who smoke from offerring us a cigarrette.
trev has been meaning to quit for a while, and i joined him when he made the attempt to support him.

I totally understand! I've tried to quit numerous times over the last 17 years.....I have not made it past 3 weeks. I've been told that 3 weeks for some reason is a breaking point for a lot of people.
You are not alone in your frustration!
