I'm absolutely thrilled some in Congress took a step in the right direction, albeit a small step.
The republicans had plenty of time to do the same but pussyfooted around with waging war instead of taking care of their own. Now they're all screaming "foul".
Why don't they get busy and address some of the following concerns instead of fighting the first step? It would certainly guarantee there re-election in November. Step up to the plate and quit whining.
Immediately:
Stop any increases in premiums.
Stop any rejection of coverage for adults for pre-existing conditions...the same as for children.
Stop the pre-existing coverage lapse of one year for all.
I wish at this point I had hope of getting insurance, but it's no dice for quite awhile. I am happy for those with sick children who will now be able to get coverage, and be able to cover their older children on their policies.
In our case, we're too old at 50 for a decent price with pre-existing,.....about the same as a house payment, too much income for medicaid, but not enough to purchase insurance....if we could actually get coverage.
There is much more to be done and it's going to take everyone working together to get it accomplished!

In local elections, (county and state) including judges, I do all the research I can. It makes a difference.
I always send officials running for election my opinion and whether or not I will vote for them based on their past performance and voting history.
Since Reagan I have voted in all Presidential elections.
After being told for years "we are no part of this world" I came to the conclusion we most certainly are! Apparently the Society does too since they signed up with the U.N. and are still affiliated despite what they claim.

You can get to Ireland on Ryan Air for about $50.00 from anywhere in Germany. Both my husband and son went. They absolutely loved it, but of course, .....they are Irish. My husband almost 100%. His family has no problem tracing back to the county in Ireland where they came from. The fighting Irish.....Black haired and blue eyed.
They said the people were wonderful, the landscape breathtaking, and managed to bring home for me some wonderful crystal wine glasses at next to nothing.

I will take the term special, to mean unique.
I raise orchids and exotic plants. I love working outside and being one with nature and the earth. I am especially fond of cats, dogs and birds. I don't mind the raccoons and opossums that wind up in my backyard, due to all the bird feeding and watching I do. In fact, most wild animals are so use to me they ignore my presence.
I do not have a need for a huge amount of people around me. I prefer a few good friends and family.
I am never bored. I love to read, cook new exotic food, and decorating. I am fascinated with history, science, and more recently politics.
I can do just about any basic home repair without calling in an expert including plumbing and electric.....but no hot water heaters!
NOT SPECIAL, just unique to me.

The Governing Body Fear The Proliferation of XJW and JW Internet Discussion Groups
by frankiespeakin inas the number of xjws grow and they post on different discussion groups, in all the different languages,, this must strike many of the governing body with terror, that is if any of them use the internet, and for all we know they all may have their head so far up their ass that they stay off the net, being old and set in their ways, but there might be a few who do surf the net, hey they may even enjoy a little porno too while there at it.. so perhaps the real old geezers don't go on the net,, being even too feeble to punch the key or see any purpose to it and so the internet remains a big mystery to them because they just don't get it.. those in the legal department at bethel probably do more internet stuff and perhaps they keep the real dumb gb abreast of things from time to time in language their dried out low functioning brains can grasp.. so depending on how up to date the individual governing body member is with the power and uses of the internet, to that extent they fear the proliferation.
the governing body fears their being exposed to the world and its members, that fear increases as we increase and the internet grows and becomes more common through out the world.. fear of this world exposure will make the governing body make less and less trips to different branches because there is so much dirt on these guys passing around all over the internet they don't know which branch members are reading this stuff.
i'm sure they are not the big hit they once were before the net and it can only get worse and worse..

At this point in time I doubt any of the GB are involved with what's actually going on. They exist in name only. It's the Department heads and the "support staff" including lawyers running the show.
I'm sure these old guys are worshipped, mollycoddled, and thrown a bone once in awhile. Their biggest worries are breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a prayer or two and the day-text at meals times.
They are most likely a false front. If anyone has ever watched the Sopranos, it's like the position JR. held. In name only out of respect for his age but everyone was operating around him, just telling him the bare minimum.

Can You Get DFd for Working for the Department of Defense?
by daniel-p inso, as some of you may be aware, i got a job offer with an agency under the u.s. department of defense.
the other day i told a member of my family, and they nearly went apeshit.. my question: what reprecussions could this reasonably have?
does the wts speak of this in any of their publications?

Daniel, I certainly hope you take the job. The DOD has the best benefits out of most government departments. Did you know you are vested after 5 years? With a family coming along this is a spectacular opportunity. My son is working for the DOD at age 22..... he will be able to retire when he is 50 if he so chooses.

Neighbor taking advantage rant!
by restrangled insorry, this is a real rant, and i'm beside my self.. here in florida we have had a horrible winter.
now we are spending hours cutting trimming and pulling up dead plants to be picked up by the garbage company on a certain day of the week.
no problem.. this week my neighbors placed their bags 10 feet into the edge of my lawn to be picked up.
