God's name ??
by Ade ini know this has probably been covered before, if so i apologize for dragging it up again.
1) is it acceptable just because its an accepted pronunciation to call god je-ho-vah
2) should the witnesses constantly be saying jehovah this and jehovah that, as it seems to me to be taking up gods name ( if it is correct ) in a worthless way.

Memorial
by praiseband ini am not a jehovah's witness, but my daughter-in-law is.
i attended the memorial last night.
the speaker quite clearly stated that judas did not partake of the bread and wine at the lord's supper, that he had already left, but even the nwt shows that not to be true.

Does God bless "Non JW's" as well?
by JH inmy sister phoned my mother yesterday and she was all happy that her son found a good job.
and since she belongs to another religion, she said "god blessed us".
so, in my jw mind, i said to myself, "nah, it can't be".

Baptism questions
by praiseband insorry, i know the questions asked at baptism have been posted here previously, but the search engine isn't working at this time.
also, my dil is planning to be baptized in jw organization in a few weeks and is currently studying these questions.
any advice as to how i (a "traditional" christian) can discuss this with her.

Christianity undergoes massive global shift
by Gadget inthis link was posted on another group i read.
i've heard a lot on here about jw's negative growth in the western world, but having huge growth in third world countries.
this book claims the same thing is happening in christianity as a whole.

Getting perspective...
by Gregor incascade locks, oregon.
here in the heart of the columbia river gorge we live beneath the looming, snow covered crags of the cascade mountain range where the columbia river cuts through its spectacular canyon about 1500 feet deep and a mile wide.. we are on the oregon side of the river and when we step out on the porch we literally must look almost straight up to see the peaks.
i have been building a tool shed out in the back but can only work a couple of hours at a time because of the rain and cold of the last few weeks.

30gh Anniversary Celebration
by buffalosrfree inwell our children really surprised us, we were in the belief that we were meeting at my son's house and all of us going out to eat together to celebrate our 30th anniversary.
well, were we ever surprised when we got to his house we found a host of family and friends waiting there to see us and my brother from up in wyoming was there also.
we got to see people we hadn't seen for some over 2 years and even longer for others.

JW obsession with dates, etc
by praiseband ini'm posting this not as a criticism, but as a perspective from a non-jw.
most christians would be sooooo boggled by the complete obsession with historical dates that jw's can argue back and forth about for ever it seems!
i'm not voicing an opinion here about whether there is merit to it or not.
