big: It is true that you can't tell just by looking that someone is for a fact illegal. But and this is a big "BUT" in areas like where I live when you have had a tremendous amount of exposure to the hispanic/latino culture it becomes possible to identify illegals with a high degree of certainty. When I have identified someone as illegal in my own head in the past, I have found that I am very rarely wrong. It is just like other things, when you know the signs for something it becomes easy to spot. Just like how you can pick out JWs when you see them.

it seems like jws more than most would be or could soon be dependent upon some form of government largesse (medicaid, social security, welfare, food stamps....) far beyond their own contribution to the till, as it were.

Let the stones cry out!
by WTWizard inhow often have you heard the phrase "if we don't preach, the stones would cry out"?
this is in regard to the ministry.. what i cannot figure out is (1) this is so urgent that we have to be out 18+ hours a day doing it, (2) we have to endure all sorts of conditions to accomplish our ministry, and (3) we are supposed to get it perfect so people can be drawn in.
so, why don't the stones get to help us out?

Sad News Orangefatcat's husband died this morning.
by orangefatcat inthis is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.
but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.
i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.

IP_SEC.....I thought Leolaia was a girl too (I guess cause of the name) then Leolaia posted some pics from a trip with several having a guy in them. I could have sworn that it was said that that was Leolaia......I could be wrong.
Leolaia, about that question getting to the heart of the matter.....The question is not mine, someone else posed it here on the board at one time, it took me a little while to understand how profound it was. So I can't take credit for it...
The more and more I talk to JWs, I realize how little they know about what they "believe" or any of the facts behind their claims. -

Quit looking at my butt!!!!!!
by candidlynuts inya know those days when you know you should have stayed in bed?.
i had to go to the grocery store, as i was walking in i noticed a man and a woman behind me and both were looking at my butt.. it's a nice butt but usually doesnt get much attention.
i resisted the urge to brush the back of my pants off till they were inside and out of sight... i did and didnt feel anything... later on in the store i got that " feeling" that somene was behind me.. turned around and a woman was looking at my butt.

Why do witnesses intentionally avoid having kids?
by NotaNess in1) don't want to deal with it at meetings is what i think would be on the top of the list.they see what others have to go through.. 2) i know a married couple jws, that are avoiding having kids, and i've heard of reasons from them like.... "don't want to raise them up in this system".
"time is too short".
"i'll wait until the next system of things".

Mysterious: "I was born late in life"...........So Just how old were you when you were born? I put off having children because of the nearness of the end......I am 35 now, still have time, my wife needs to decide if she still wants to be married to me (she's still a dub), doubt she will change her mind about kids. I absolutely want a couple of kids, I just don't know how that is going to work out right now. -rassillon

Its funny that JWs will universally accept the truth of those statements, even to themselves, but then turn around and claim how they love to be at the meetings and feel refreshed and can't wait for the convention, etc, etc... They attribute it to the so called fact that there must be something wrong with their mindset rather than it being something with the structure of the meetings/org. Oh, God, NO, nothing can be wrong with the organization. \|/ -( )- /|\
