Definition of religion:
1: A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny.
2: An institution to express belief in a divine power.
Evolution is like the opposite of religion.
If ANYTHING it could be a philisophy, but that's a stretch, and it would only apply if you felt compelled to help evolution along.
Evolution is a natural process. It's no more religious than continental drift.

i must say the more and more i learn and find my way around my spirituallity the less i use the name jehovah.
it just reminds me of everything i went through, reminds me of the ""bad"" and not the good of god.
it reminds me of hypocracy and mind control.
I prefer to use Yahweh.
The JWs admit in their own publications that it is MORE accurate than 'Jehovah', (in their own contorted way) but they use 'Jehovah' because " the form 'Jehovah' has a currency and familiarity that 'Yahweh' does not have. "
In other words: "We use it because it is more popular." (So much for being no part of the world, or fighting to restore the divine name. huh?)
So when those witnesses come to your door, or meet you in a doctors office and ask you if you know gods name, you can have 1up on them already.

i was just thinking about this the other day, about how my ideas of a romantic partner have changed since being a jw.. growing up, i thought i would marry a very upstanding jw, we would pioneer together, do missionary work, have children, see the world.
(never had any thoughts about bethel, though.
) so what it boiled down to was a stepford husband, up tight, not the least bit sexual, closed minded bore.. so now that i have grown up, seen the world, been married (and actually picked a good man the first time, although it didn't work out), i just contrast that with what i am attracted to now.. i like them open minded, earthy, i love artistic types because i am a published writer, hair doesn't matter to me (long/short, bald, etc), challenges convention, very sexual, still like a traveling man.. i am just curious if you anyone else can compare and contrast how their ideas have changed since breaking out the group-think of the jw organization..
What type of person are you attracted to now?

I can't recall ever meeting anyone that I would want to have sex with, or get involved in a romantic relationship.

i had a chat with some friends during the week, and they started sharing experiences they had, dealing with demons in the past.. i heard some stories from brothers from cuba, that used to be mediums or "saints", and how the demons "immediately started to attack them when they started learning the truth(tm)".
I dont know about actual documentation, but I thought some did die due to this........could be wrong, cant believe everything you see on TV.
Not even the Bible accuses demons of killing anyone.
Angels on the other hand.... If anything the Bible says is true, they can be pretty nasty: ( 2 Kings 19:35 )

I have called upon the demons and satan himself to show himself to me...........no body home.

These stories make me laugh.
Fist, I find it funny that they think that they are SO important that any demon actually CARES if they become a witness or not... There are 7 billion other people on the planet, and only a few million demons. Get over yourself...
Second, I find it funny that they always think that they are SO much smarter than the demons... What demon would be dumb enough to do that? Practically DRIVE you to the religion by attempting to scare you. Yeah, real smart.
Third, why would God allow a demon to get anywhere near you? Like to hold you to the floor for hours? The very fact that a demon did that proves that Yahweh couldn't care less. So apparently the demons are more interested in them becoming a witness than God is...
To answer your question. I don't believe in demons. But if I did, I'd be their ally.
