Why do you support having sex out of marriage?

i work with a lot of people who are very sexually active.

which should mean they are real happy, right?

after all, isn't sex the best feeling in the world and that is why we have such a strong internal sex drive.

I'm still a virgin at 34 and cannot for the life of me bring myself to have sex. Been a JW since I was 15, got DF for immorality a couple weeks ago, didn't have intercourse but did enough to warrant being DF. I'm still not sure it's what I want though, I mean I always wanted to wait til marriage as I think it makes it more special. I also want to make sure the person absolutely loves me before giving myself to him. So unless he proposes to me, no sex.

Not to offend or anything but I have to ask: Is it really more special if you wait until your married at 45ish and starting to fall apart, instead of having sex before marriage while your in your prime?

Waiting 'till marriage is fine... if you intend to get married sometime before you're an old person.

I think that the Kingdom Hall where the criminal attended should be leveled as part of the punishment. Also, the offenders should receive death by hanging, without a jury.

did any one see the picture of the african man, in native attire, eating grubs ( worms ) for his meal and acting blessed in one of the may jw mags?

my dog would not even eat these and she licks her own but.. i think the next issue should depict a texan in native dress eating a 2 inch thick t-bone or a new englander dining on a 6 pound lobster.. .

Makes you think, though, if Jeehoober intervened by providing food, how about a nice T-bone with a side salad, baked potato with sour cream? In for a dime, in for a dollar. Why intervene only to do it halfway? Grubs? Jeeesus! Ick!

Well you know god, this is the same guy that made his chosen people eat the same food every day for FORTY YEARS*. And when they complained, he smites them.

* They were only in the wilderness for so long as a punishment because their parents didn't trust god in battle... then when their punisment is over, they trust him in battle and end up losing anyways because one man stole some stuff.

I'm gonna say right now, that I'm no expert, I'm a virgin. (No lie)

The thing is, they are not even close to being happy. Most are depressed, in emotional conflicts with people and simply not the life style of joy you would want to think.

But do you think they would be happier if they abstained from sex? They could stop having sex and still be depressed and miserable. I know plenty of people who don't have sex outside of marriage (as far as I know) and are miserable. I don't think sex has anything to do with it, it's their lifestyle that needs to change.

Do you feel like a better human being, for having had sex with multiple people in your life?

I think a better question would be: "Do you feel like a worse human being, for having had sex with multiple people in your life?" Because humans do all kinds of things that don't make us 'better' but if they don't make us worse then there's no problem. Drinking multiple different kinds of soda doesn't make me a better person, but neither does only drinking one kind.

Should sex remain as something that is only for a married couple?

Yes if it's important to you... if you think it's wrong, and it would damage you emotionally, then do what you think is right. But for those of us who don't think there's anything wrong with it, then we should also do what we think is right. There is no 'yes or no' answer, it's a decision each individual must make. I personally don't think that there is an all-powerfull prude who has the right to tell everyone else what to do with their own body. So without god, sex becomes a choice. Lore

The Watchtower and Creation

it struck me this past year, with respect to jw teachings about the timing of genesis 1, that even in things that really have no impact on what most jws think of as "core doctrine" the watchtower society sticks to its traditions over what the bible says.

4.5 billion years...

4,500,000,000 years...

even if 1000 years is as one day to god, that's 45,000,000 days. (4,500,000,000 / 1000 = 45,000,000)

45,000,000 spirit days is 123,626 spirit years. (45,000,000 / 365 = 123,626. 373... )

It took god 123,626 spirit years to make the universe.

Now if I didn't know how stars formed, that might not be so lame, but I do know how stars form, they don't require any miracles. So basically god created a cloud of matter, which forms stars and planets naturally. And then waited 123,626 spirit years, for it to organize itself, before he starts working on it... then he does the hard complicated part in a few days, and then rests again while it all falls apart.

That doesn't even make sense, and it makes this god guy out to be the laziest creature I've ever heard of.
