the simple answer is no.. so many witnesses are blind to this obvious point , and still believe god will bring judgemnet to all mankind on the basis of the preaching done by jehovahs witnesses.. realise this jehovahs witnesses,.

Even here in the US, the average total hours-per witness--and this includes all pioneers is only 15 hours per month. How can they say that even here the territories are being covered?

Why so paranoid?
by RR injust a quick question.
there are so many on this forum, who have been inactive for quite a number of years, who haven't seen the inside of a kingdom hall in a long time, or have not seen hide or hair of their former brethren, still, they go online incognito, fearing they will be seen.
i mean, if you've been gone that long, who cares, if someone recognizes you?

I can see where you are coming from if indeed your family already treats you like a leper. But there are many that have been disfellowshipped regardless of how many years they have been out of "the tr00f". For many of us we do not want to sever ties with the ones that are witnesses in our lives and by getting disfellowshipped for many it would become a reality.

what does grace mean to JHW?
by evangelist ini would like to know what the grace of god mean to jhw, and why they try to work for something that is a gift and is free from god?.

It is true that JW's do not use the phrase "the Grace of God" but I think the JW equivelant would be "God's Loving Kindness". Remember we are speaking about an organism that uses "code words".

Does Knowledge of Evil Condemn Us?

[when] free people have a knowledge of evil they always, at least briefly, consider doing evil.
and, even having evil thoughts for a brief fleeting moment makes people less righteous than god.

1975
by musky inthere has been much said about the watchtower saying that the end would come in 1975. i have never seen any evidence that the watchtower said the end would definitely come in 1975. if there was such evidence, there would certainly be little or no witnesses left today, i believe.
i do not believe that excuses the fact that they definitely put that idea in peoples heads.
i was 10 years old then.

(Rev. 20:6) Hence, when Christians note from God's timetable the approaching end of 6,000 years of human history, it fills them with anticipation. Particularly is this true because the great sign of the "last days" has been in the course of fulfillment since the beginning of the "time of the end" in 1914... eight years remain to account for a full 6,000 years of the seventh day. Eight years from the autumn of 1967 would bring us to the autumn of 1975, fully 6,000 years into God's seventh day, his rest day. The immediate future is certain to be filled with climatic events, for this old system is nearing its complete end. Within a few years at most the final parts of Bible prophecy relative to these 'last days' will undergo fulfillment, resulting in the liberation of surviving mankind into Christ's glorious 1,000-year reign!" {WT May 1 1968 271-3}

Return visits
by sleepy inman i used to hate doing return visits.. at one time i worked with a lot of pioneers and they always did a load of return visits.. but most people they called on were either elderly and liked someone to talk to or people who may have been polite , or took the mags on the doors , but had no real interest.. i used to hate the way poeple would say to call back on the "intrested ones" as nearly no one you call on is interested in being a witness.. yet most witneeses cant see this.any sign of a conversation or just looking at the mags and every thinks they are interested.. so most of these pioneers just ended up irratating people who were just being polite, by repeatedly calling on them.. sometimes after a few weeks , the person would just disappear , you knew they were hinding behind the door or something.. so i hardly ever had return visits as i found i could quickly tell whether someone is being polite or had a real interest in tallking, although i kept some calls going just so i could count them.. succsessful pioneers are just the ones who cant read the signs of disinterest easily , and just wear someone down so much that they give in to their preaching.

Why are the witnesses suddenly smiling at me?
by Inquiry inhi all..... i was starting to feel like i was walking around outside in me undies.... is there something new going on... people who normally always looked at me with disdain are suddenly smiling and making friendly.... is anything up????
just last week, i was sure i was still satan's spawn....???

I had gone to visit my parents last month and my mom told me that it is now the goal of the witnesses to do ANYTHING they can to bring back those that have left the "truth". I'm not sure if this next thing was announced from the platform or if it is something that came through the society to the elders (my dad is a ms). They are told to make reinstatement as easy and quick as they can make it. I can't remember her wording so I will only paraphrase it. She said that especially since 9/11 they are more aware of how close they are to the end and that they need to make it as easy as possible to get as many people back before armageddon. *gag*
