  A question for christians

  if there are any christians here,i have a question.

  why didn't jesus write anything down?

  was he illiterate?did he write it down and the papers get lost?

  IronGlad - I am a Christian, and I have had the same questions as you!

  There are some theories that his personal gospels have been lost - or are being hidden. Who knows - something I hope to find out some day.

  if you could turn back time, where and when would you go?.

  i'd go back to the 80's.... .

  life was more fun then, just about everything was legal.

  I'd go back to the late 80's - my son was so little then and I was so busy trying to finish school, work, etc. I'd love to go back from one more day to just sit and hold him while he was little......and then I could also see my dad, my grandmother, and my brother all of whom I have lost in the past 2 years.

  Stopping smoking thanks to JW's

  so many people all of a sudden stopped smoking, when they joined the jw's.

  was it the fear of jah?

  the fear of being destroyed at armageddon?.

  "These things aren't wrong in themselves....."

  anyone else remember those talks about being materialistic?

  i can remember when the brother would go on about owning the latest gadgets, new cars, boats and bigger houses.

  it seems they always precluded their remarks with, "these things aren't wrong in themselves...." and then would go on to make a big deal about how unspiritual it would be to own these things.

  Quite frankly......I now enjoy the fact that I live in a big house, drive a fancy sports car, and wear expensive clothing and jewlry. What the heck. I worked my heart out, put myself through college while raising a little boy by myself. I worked hard and now can reap some of the benefits. There's nothing wrong with enjoying good things when they come your way.

  District Convention

  my mother sent me a letter the other day asking me to go to the assembly with them next weekend.

  everytime they talk to me now the conversation always seems to be the same.

  Charmed.......

  Tell them you'd love to go - then suddenly get violently ill at the last minute. Call your parents - tell them how awful you feel and would definately go if you weren't so ill - then ask them to take notes for you and fill you on on any new stuff - maybe even pick up one of the new books for you.

  This gets you out of the assembly (for now anyways) but keeps the lines of communication open with your family.

  This isn't the final answer - just a way to delay and give you some more time to think things out.

  participating, or even lurking on this site could lead to a major deterioration of your spiritual wellbeing.

  spiritual degradation could well be the result of such practices.

  gradualism is an insidious spiritual disease with life threatening effects.

  Does Everyone Leave For The Most Noble Of Reasons?

  some of us left simply because we didn't believe it any more.. some us couldn't stand the hypocrisy.. some of us left so's to have more sex.

  some of us saw another light shining brighter.. some of us wanted more material possessions.. some of us needed more control over others than the borg would allow.. what do you think?.

  I left for 1) Love (still married to him - that cute man!).....and 2) I couldn't live under the totalitarian rule any longer. It was oppressive and I wanted to be free.

  After reading all these stories the scripture comes to mind where Jesus says Many will say to me Lord Lord...didn't we do all these things in your name...and he will turn them away saying "I never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlesness".

  And how about "having a form of godly devotion but proving false to it's power". If these elders were truly touched by the holy spirit they would be filled with empathy for those in need and would reach out to try and help them. I realize that they are only human and would still make stupid mistakes - but for the most part they would really truly want to save everyone and turn noone away.

  JW Superstitions

  yesterday i got home and i realized i accidentally brought a necklace with a cross on it from my boyfriend's house.. it was in a regular brown paper bag i put some of my things in.

  i was lying in bed last night thinking about it wondering if i should take it outside.

  i was afraid the demons were going to invade my house.. i decided to leave my tv on all night because we all know the demons will not bother you if your light or tv is on.

  Don't even think about reading the fortune cookie after eating Chinese.

  Unless you read it by the rules - that is.....follow each fortune with the words "in bed"

  Try it - it's great! Brings whole new meanings to each fortune

  For example: You will reunite with a friend in bed....You will advance in your career in bed....You have many friends in bed..........tee hee hee
