ok so our dc was last week and we live about an hour and a half away from the meeting site.
so earlier in the year i heard my wife mention something about staying near by in a hotel.
now i'm thinking what the hell in a major city with several people shes going to have to get 2 rooms and the cost is going to be crazy high.
You're seriously going to let your wife go somewhere without food and gas money? I can't be the only one thinking you're being a jerk. She's right to complain about you. Sure it's a cult but you're not helping her in any way other than reinforcing her persecution complex.
Maybe she's not the delusional one.
what was the experience like?
i lived with my brother and then sister-in-law in an apartment building owned by a brother and his wife.. besides the fact that they would constantly enter the place while we were out, without any kind of advance notification, they would procrastinate whenever there was maintenance work that needed to be done.
sometimes it would take months before they would get to it.
That would be similar to going into business with a JW. HELL NO!
Even my koolaid guzzling parents always said never go into business with a JW.
as jw's we are constantly reminded that we sin each day due to imperfection.
but when bringing up the specifics, i have never gotten a good answer.. several times i have even mentioned to others of my getting up on a sunday morning, reading the daily text, studying the watchtower for the afternoon meeting, driving to the meeting (under the speed limit), answering at the meeting, (not using more than one towel in the restroom), going out in service later in the afternoon, coming home, having dinner, and then in the evening preparing for a part for the ministry school.. i didn't recall scheming in my heart about doing something bad or anything like that.. so, specifically, where does the "sin" come in?
and if what i did was sinful, how can i improve on it?

Honestly I'd expect this to happen in time if they are re-inventing the religion(cult). But we would have heard by now so this is highly suspect.
housebound at the moment, recovering from surgery, two lovely asian ladies approached me in my yard saying they were graduates from the something-something institute and they were practising what they learned.
they wanted to tell me about mother god.... that elicited a pretty fast "no thankyou" and they moved to the next door.
i entertained the idea of giving those two girls a run for their money, but hubby said no- go.
