Hi, again. I'm on a roll! ha! ha! My family attended their convention in columbia s. carolina.this weekend. well, my mother called this evening to tell me something very strange that happened at their convention today. (sunday) during one of the talks the brother was making a point about satan, being the serpent mentioned in revelation...and just as he said it...what should slither out on the stage, as if on cue? a SNAKE!!! yes, a REAL LIVE SNAKE!
my mother says the snake came from under some flowers and plants that were on the stage. she said, from the sidelines a brother came onto the stage, grabbed the snake by the tail and hurriedly carried him away. what was done to it, i have no idea. the brother giving the talk had a sense of humor... he says "speaking of serpents..." and the audience laughed! my mother says...some one said it was a copperhead moccasin (commen in s. carolina). how he got there is anyone's guess... but, it was so funny that he came out on cue! (ha ha)
by the way, mom says there was over 8000 in attendance and 68 were baptized!!
sssssssssee you later! (ha ha)
yeah, actual email. while i am no expert on snakes, i am pretty sure there are copperheads, and water moccasin's. didnt know they could crossbreed. if this were to happen in a church of christendom, it would certainly be proof of demons. ofcourse, since it happened at a witness convention, it is absolute proof that the spirit of jehoover was with the faithful and put the finishing touches on brother dildo's talk.

w.t.f.!? "no more pain, tears, death...blah blah... till the conclusion of this SYSTEM OF THINGS." we both about freaked out, and had to rewind it to see if we heard it right. i dont think any other religion uses "system of things". they usually translate cosmos? as world dont they? its not an earth shaking event but it just seemed weird to hear it in a movie.

Ban cigarette production?
by greendawn ingiven that cigarettes are harmful to health why don't the governments shut down the factories producing them?
it's strange how they tolerate them but not marijuana.
smoking costs a lot of money to the health services of all countries, while the tobacco industries make their profits.
-
dvw
smoking is dangerous, so is skydiving, drinking beer, fatty foods, motorcycles, and sodomy, etc. let's ban em' all!
computers are also not that healthy, carpal tunnel and all. it's been nice knowing y'all.

She's Back! With a question about guns & JWs
by asleif_dufansdottir inhey, guys.... looooooong time no see.
some of you might remember me but it's been a very long time.
still in grad school, and have a new (sort of) hobby.. i've always liked guns.

papa john, it doesnt matter what an object is "designed" to do. fists can be deadly weapons. a small unarmed woman would be no match for any man wanting to do her harm. a gun could save her life. i hope you never are a victim of a home invasion, but if you are, i think you should be passive and sit idley by as the intruder(s) do what they will to your loved ones.
ps. you probably think the martial arts should be outlawed. they were infact developed to do harm.
that's a good little dubbie

yes, i have heard of it. my best friend's wife wanted to do something about her weight. insurance would not cover it. she went to mexico to have it preformed.(cheap there) it turned out pretty bad. complications and infection. had to come back to the states to have it reversed. as i understand it, it is a big "rubberband" installed around a portion of the stomach. i think it is probably relatively safe if it is done here (usa). but, please do not have it done in mexico. there is a reason it is less expensive down there.

Name the good things that Jw's have or believe....
by AK - Jeff inwe always seem to get focused on the bad - and there is plenty of it for sure - and anyone who follows my posts knows i am no wt apologist by any stretch.
but focusing on the postive is a good thing in the 'moving on' process i think too.
what do you think jw's had right?.
-
dvw
i think the things they have "right" are the same things everyone else has gotten right. (fidelity to one's spouse etc). too bad though, the rank and file are just reprogramed automatons. can a robot with a preprogramed response to love or friendship really requite love or friendship? in contrast, the rest of the world can exercise freewill in how they choose friends and express love.
