  in my anger as an ex witness about 4 years ago i really wished that this would happen.

  although the glaring errors, hypocrisy & downright badness of the wts was finally evident to me personally, others whom i had expeced to eventually leave the org have not.. i think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses.

  having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions.

  In my anger as an ex witness about 4 years ago I really wished that this would happen. Although the glaring errors, hypocrisy & downright badness of the WTS was finally evident to me personally, others whom I had expeced to eventually leave the org have not.

  I think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses. Having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions. My observations were so simplistic, realistic & true that she would not comment on them. The logic was shut out. The guards went up. The conversation ended.

  I can still recollect the utter frustration of knowing that my wife could see my points & actually tell me that she agreed with me yet she could not go into that zone. She couldn't allow herself to take it on, digest it & make decisions based on the logic. She had to stick with the religion. Even though she could see the glaring faults & errors. My wife was more or less brought up in the religion. I was not.

  As the last 4 or 5 years have rolled by I have been astonished to see my wife adapt to & accept the ever changing WTS procedures & doctrines. Matters that are big to me just seem to pass them all by. Not a question asked. Not a whimper of outrage. They just f***ing accept it all.

  My point is that there will always be people willing to continue this racket of a religion. Just like the catholics who's history is steeped in corruption, murder & ungodliness, yet a week ago 200 000 people lined the streets of my country to acknowledge the head of an organisation who's crimes over the centuries are well documented. They just go along with it.

  Give up the notion of the WTS ever ending or disbanding. It aint going to ever happen.

  Religion/JW's must really, really hate the internet/mass media

  the beutiful city in which i live will host a visit from the pope tomorrow.

  it has led to a fair amount of outcry from those opposed to the catholic church/the current pope.. people are so aware of the attrocities comitted by this man & most people are able to form an opinion due to the fact that all things are now uncovered almost immediately by the mass media/internet.. i think it's a wonderful thing.

  being able to have all sorts of crimes/attrocities/scandals, openly exposed.

  Not so long ago religion was able to sweep everything under the carpet. Individuals had very little scope to tell their stories. To expose wrongdoing & wickedness within certain organisations.

  The wicked who would like to 'cover up' scandal or protect their pathetic organisations must hate the internet & the availability of information that is now so freely accesable. They must really hate it.

  I say - Get it right up you!

  You are being exposed for the racket that you are.

  a baby is a beutiful, innocent vulnerable little human being.

  Baby Worship

  i remember when we had our 1st kid, there was an absolute ass hole of a pioneer elder in our hall.. when people were making a big deal of our newborn daughter, he made some remarks about 'baby worship'.. in conversation it turned out that he resented the adulation given to a new born baby & felt that the way witnesses acted around a newborn was over the top & inappropriate.. this arsepeice was childless.

  he & his wife had decided to put kingdom interests ahead of having a family.

  it will be interesting to see how he feels in his lonely old age, childless, bitter & still here, in this 'old system'.. no real surprise when you consider the actions of thousands of jw's as they shun their flesh & blood for the reason of disagreeing with the religion or other reasons.. it seems that in jw land, even loving your children too much is frowned upon.. .

  This was one that always plagued me when I was still trying to grasp onto my beliefs as a JW.

  Either in WT study or in private discussion, this topic would come up.

  What a horendous outlook of the future. To be in absolute fear that the authorities might take your children away from you. That you might suffer torture. That you may be asked to sign a form like in nazi Germany to renounce your faith otherwise the authorities will torture your children in front of you.

  Terrible, terrible things to have implanted into your mind regarding what may occur in the 'near future'.

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses the most negative, disturbing influence that you could ever expose your mind to.

  Or was I just 'over sensitive'?

  this was something that i could never get my head around.. i recall being at a convention and a pioneer couple (who happened to be complete arseholes) were talking about how they had had this bill for a car repair & 'didn't know what they were going to do so they prayed about it & waited on jehovah'.

  the bill was for 66.73 & within a few days they had returned home to find an electricity rebate made out to them for 66.73. et voila!

  all sorted out.

  This was something that I could never get my head around.

  I recall being at a convention and a pioneer couple (who happened to be complete arseholes) were talking about how they had had this bill for a car repair & 'didn't know what they were going to do so they prayed about it & waited on jehovah'. The bill was for £66.73 & within a few days they had returned home to find an electricity rebate made out to them for £66.73. Et voila! All sorted out. God had 'stepped in' on their behalf & 'taken action' to ensure that their piss ant car was kept on the road to enable them to pioneer. Much 'oooohhhh'ing & aaaaaahhhh'ing' from the convention audience.

  Now this is the thing that bothers me with this religion. How is it that they feel comfortable worshiping a god who 'takes action' for a couple of idiots who are in full time service yet when a child is being abused in the congregation & prays for it to stop, he doesn't 'take action'?

  For years I was told that god only intervenes on behalf of mankind in relation to spiritual matters & not physical. Yet for years I would hear lame shit stories of a brother getting this pefect part-time job or some sister being given a car or a pioneer couple being handed a free holiday by some kind person in the Kingdom Hall. Surely these are 'physical matters'?

  So why can't god step in or take the same sort of miraculous action to help a child avoid being scarred for life by a paedophile?

  Fancy having your head so far up your own arse that you imagine that your need for a car is more important than the welfare of an abused child.

  I can't buy into the logic. Never understood it. Never will.

  you do not have to be disfellowshipped, even if you were shunned after being marked or after fading.

  all comments are welcome, such as who shunned you, how long since family have spoken to you, what your situation is, why you are being shunned and how it has made you feel.

  I faded very, very quickly 4 years ago. Not d/f'd.

  Some witnesses in my area have taken it upon themselves to shun me so as to prove their uber faithfulness as a JW. These people sicken me.

  Interestingly, a number of witnesses have decided to 'flip-flop' shun me over the last few years. Sometimes they will let on to me & other times they will simply blank me etc. I grew very tired of this kind of treatment. It is frustrating trying to work out if a person is going to be friendly or not. So I decided to 'reverse shun' these individuals. This decision wasn't taken rashly. Rather it was a reaction to thier pettymindedness over a number of years.

  I can tell you that they don't like it at all. One brother who 'flip-flop' shuns me was walking by as I let my wife out of the car at the recent convention. He wished to speak to me that day & play the friendly witness role, probobly so as not to appear like a complete arsehole in front of my wife. I ignored him completely. Why should I take any part in his juvenile nonsense? Why should I validate this sad little mans self righteous bigotry? He knows why I ignored him.

  I have no time in my life for people who act in this manner.
