I could one up that. As a current pious-sneer, I just got my ticket today. The back says that audio and video recording are permitted "for personal use only" (LOL!). This could be especially good if they do the FM radio thing for the hearing impaired (hey there will probably be lots of older elders there).
So, who wants a 2.5 hour sound file?
Edit:
Oh, yea. 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th. -

Buttons, are they necessarily dangerous?
by White Dove inor do they have some kind of benefit to us, such as self-preservation?.
i learned that i had another button to add to the two i already had.. my buttons are:.
questioning in a judgmental way my parenting methods.

Shador,
You Satanist, you!
I love it!Thank you. I accept your comment's spirit.
However, I must state, lest any get the wrong idea, that the reason for the disclaimers was precisely because I do not identify as a Satanist. I found those particular rules to be in accord with Nature. But there are other aspects of the dark path that I disagree with.

Still, I desire to be a nice person.
But heaven help the button pushers.
Isn't there some kind of balance to be struck here?Y'know, I have, over time, explored many philosiphies, beliefs, and worldviews. A lot of times I will take away from them various points I agree with - sort of an "a la carte" approach to a belief system. I mention this to say that, during my explorations, I pulled the following good rules on dealing with people from one of the many viewpoints I have explored:
- When in another's lair (territory, turf, etc.), show him respect or else do not go there.
- If a guest in your lair (territory, turf, etc.) annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
- When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.
Which is to say, if someone is "pushing your buttons" - if you are on their turf, leave. If they are on your turf or neutral ground (public, etc.), feel free to rip them a new asshole and feel no guilt or shame about it.

The GB Knew What They Were Doing
by compound complex ini believe that the governing body knew very well what would be the consequences of publishing the above article on apostates.
they carefully word every article, not only for the faithful, but for the unfaithful, and for those who have never believed our faith.
the above article and the comments here show me their great wisdom, because they have achieved exactly what they wanted.

Maybe they really did. Strengthening the persecution complex of the r&f, by deliberately causing the "persecution."

Local Needs: Low Hours
by breakfast of champions inthe local needs was about low fs time in the cong.
about 1/3 of publishers are averaging 4 hours per month.
that is unprecedented in our cong, a usually 'zealous' congregation.. my take is this: if you don't believe it yourself, why are you going to waste valuable time telling others?

Then you have those who do the "pioneer shuffle" in service, barely walking and counting all of that as witnessing time. Those time reports must be so off.
Heh. I've started using a technique a (on the edge) brother told me, semi-jokingly, many years ago - "Tie's on, clock's running." Combine that with a rural territory, far-out calls, groups who believe in extended "breaks", and people who leave the group in the car for an hour-long "return visit", and pioneering is easy. I'm going to get 100 hours this month and I haven't really done jack shit.

Witnesses =Saying "bloody Mary" x 3 in mirror WILL cause demon attacks...mental conditioning?
by Witness 007 inyes according to witnesses anything can cause demon attacks even buying old furniture, the wrong {haunted} house or article of clothing....don't forget those evvvvil smurfs!
some witnesses share stories about how they were attacked by demons in the night.
like my witness friend who claims his bed levitated after reading ghost stories....is this just mental conditioning or is he just nuts?.

Personally, I think there are many of these beings out there. "Spirits", "aliens", "gods", "ghosts", "angels", "demons" - people call them different things. Like us, there are good ones and bad ones. I think the reason many JWs and other fundies have bad experiences when involved in occult activity is that their instilled fear of the "demons" actually creates negative energy that draws the bad "spirits" to them.
The "Bloody Mary" legend is by no means confined to JWs. - http://www.snopes.com/horrors/ghosts/bloodymary.asp

New Literature Arrangement
by Quarterback injust recently the org has changed the literature distribution to the congregation members.. the changes are:.
1) publishers are to pick-up their mag's weekly in preparation for what they think they will use that week.
2) group conductors shall now distribute the study article of the wt, and the km.. wonder why they have changed this?.
-
Shador
Yes, as a current Mag servant, I can say that this has been going on for quite some time now in the US. In fact, just last month, in our congregation, ALL personal copies (public and private) are now given through your Group Overseer (this apparently was an option in the original letter). Copies for use in field service are still self-serve, though.
It does strike me as odd that they go through such rigamarole to keep the physical copy of the "study edition" private, then make it available to the general public anyway on the website.

The Walrus Was Paul
by MoneurMallard inmany new testament biblical students today of both messianic jewish and christian backgrounds, are finding out that paul of tarsus simply doesn't fit with the remainder of new testament theology.
there is an article i've recently read, from the judaism vs. christianity dot com website that deals explicitly with this topic.... well, now i cannot seem to access it, but here is the link:.

I made it with $289. Of course, my car is likely to be repossessed, the rent is due, and my tooth is rotting out.
