Yes according to Witnesses anything can cause demon attacks even buying old furniture, the wrong {haunted} house or article of clothing....don't forget those evvvvil Smurfs! Some Witnesses share stories about how they were attacked by demons in the night. Like my Witness friend who claims his bed levitated after reading ghost stories....is this just mental conditioning or is he just nuts?

I ordered 3 bloody marys at my local pub without getting attacked.

if you believe it's true, it probably is.

Personally, I think there are many of these beings out there. "Spirits", "aliens", "gods", "ghosts", "angels", "demons" - people call them different things. Like us, there are good ones and bad ones. I think the reason many JWs and other fundies have bad experiences when involved in occult activity is that their instilled fear of the "demons" actually creates negative energy that draws the bad "spirits" to them.

The "Bloody Mary" legend is by no means confined to JWs. - http://www.snopes.com/horrors/ghosts/bloodymary.asp

Your friend isn't "nuts", dear W007 (peace to you!) but just a victim of mental conditioning, unfortunately. Inanimate objects don't move... nor do mere spirits move them (eye-roll! I mean WHY? For "entertainment"? Seriously...).

Have a little patience... and compassion... for your friend. It would help if you could explain to him how spirits DO work (which would requiring knowing what they ARE). Once a person understand that spirits have no power against us in and of themselves... the fear... and mental conditioning... begins to dissipate.

I hope this helps and, again, peace to you!

They're made up stories, some do it for attention and to have a good story to tell, and others for different reasons.

Most of the stories I've read or heard that involve ghosts, aliens, or other paranormal activities seem to fit exactly with something they have seen in movies.
