does the society monitor this site in hopes of finding witnesses crossing the line?
I sincerely hope they read it.

Leolaia,
I have always been a proponent of your extreme intelligence, (no joke) and I am sure that I quoted you at some time or other. But, I never took the credit for what you said.
I'm a 60 year old man and not really worried about impressing anyone.
But, that being said, some of your work is brilliant and I WISH I had said it first.
Your more or less friend, I hope

Hey, watch it, I'm not weird. I posted over there for the past year and there are a lot of great people that used to be there. About a dozen or more of us were thrown out yesterday. Some quit, others unplugged.
Robert King has done a lot of good to help release people from the WT. I kind of look at it as a first step away from the organization. It was a wonderful experience to find his DB and see that others were so disillusioned too. Very encouraging.
The trip away from the organization for me was "baby steps" to use a "What About Bob?" term. I was a witness for 45 years and it takes a while to get the courage to either walk away or stand up and fight the evil slave.
I began to post here at the same time I posted at EW. This DB is a lot less 'reverent' than EW and it is sometimes still difficult for me, especially when the posters start degrading Jehovah and Jesus.
Generally, though, I have always enjoyed the studiousness of a bunch that post here, and this has been, all in all, a nice place to begin to take bigger steps. I think that some of the EW folks will be coming over here, and I sincerely believe that they will add a lot to the serious discussions here.
I hope most will make them feel welcome.
As far as Robert King goes, in my opinion he started something over there that got bigger than himself, and he couldn't stand not to be the 'god' or leader of the group. A lot of the folks disagreed with his prophecies, his claiming to be of the anointed, his view of the New Covenant, as well as his efforts to censure the DB.
I personally won't go back as a poster unless he apologizes and changes his authoritarian view of the DB.

moseswasbyfarthemeekestofallthemenwhowereuponthesurfaceoftheground.num.12:3.. among the many bible examples that highlight how humble people are favored with a glimpse of gods glory is moses, who enjoyed an intimate relationship with god.
this humble man, who spent 40 years as a lowly shepherd, likely much of it on the arabian peninsula, was highly favored by the creator in many ways.
What makes it especially nauseating is that even though they claim to be the 'faithful and discreet slave', they actually do not even believe in ANY significance in the FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE.
If they did, they would consult, rather than ignore the 8000+ people that are JW's claiming to be part of the SLAVE class.
They believe less in the FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE than I do.
Bunch of lying jerks.

lets put it at 3 meetings a week.. my record is about 12 meetings in a row without missing.. normally, i'd miss 1 meeting per 2 weeks, in my best days..
I went to every meeting from 1966 to 2005 unless I was sick or traveling, or working on a KH Project.
Probably missed some, but, a very few meetings a year for any other reasons.
The stupidest meeting I ever went to was the day after my wedding, my brand new wife and I went to the Sunday meeting in Eldorado, Arkansas, on our HONEYMOON.
I dare anyone else to admit to anything stupider!!!
I was a borgite.

The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses services are no longer needed as my spiritual advisors.
Dear Brothers,

has anyone ever posted about the tons of time magazine articles about the jws?
time has been around forever and has been a 'witness' (pardon the pun) to much of their history .. clear back to the 1930s.
go to the time website and search for yourself!
Truthsearcher,
Good Find.
mellifluous "Judge" J. F. Rutherford, denounced most human institutions, especially the United Nations. Cried he: "Display outright fearlessness of this world conspiracy. . . . God's vengeance is speedily coming against all conspirators."
Uninformed
looking back, honestly, do you think you ever really loved jehovah??
?
When I was in prison for the draft in the 60's, I studied the Bible really hard and during that time, I developed a profound love for Jehovah. Over the years, the love tended to lose its intensity, but I do love him deeply and now very much too. But, I never did experience again that first 'love' as a result of so much personal study.
I love him enough still to figure he has everything figured out and in control, regardless of what it looks like from here.
I do get upset with him. I have been upset with him over the whole issue of religion. If the Bible was just written more plainly, it seems that a lot of this crap could have been avoided.
All this doctrinal crap makes me crazy.
ad infinitum.

the feb 1st wt has a banner headline on the cover "must we always tell the truth" - inside it says (p1) "' i hate lies and i hate being lied to" exclaimed a 16 year old girl" ... so , o.k.
we must expect that anyone printing such things must themselves be absolutely honest and truthful .. so why do they use misleading quotations that are, practice, nothing short of lies?
many have been documented but this one came my way recently while using another thread .. the book "let your kingdom come" has an appendix dealing with babylonian and jewish chronology .
I wish I had it handy, but remember the "quote" that the WT used in 91 regarding the UN and churches, something like...'No less than 24 Catholic Organizations have associate with the UN..."
They were quoting a guy who wrote this in a book, name Muller I think and in his writing he said "...as NGO's... regarding the association of the 24 Catholic Orgs.
Sorry I'm not sharper tonight. Ask Blondie, or someone with some sense.

i havent been around here for a couple of years but i wondered if anyone would be interested in commenting on the information given at the web site: http://www.lawphil.net/judjuris/juri2003/aug2003/am_p-02-1651_2003.html.. it is extremely long but i found it interesting.
it concerns jehovahs witnesses living as man and wife without being married.
in the philippines there is no divorce so a witness cannot remarry unless they get an annulment which is extremely expensive and beyond the reach of most fillipinos.
Link,
I heard of this back in the 80's, seems like there was a letter on file about it.
Some countries don't allow divorce on any grounds, even adultery, so the WT has tried to establish a way that persons can be "married" in a religious sense though not in a legal sense.
I think some countries that are heavily influenced by the Catholic Church would be the most affected.
