Startingover
I noticed the same thing. Was in my closet today thinking about getting rid of most everything. It is really a joy not to have to put on a suit and tie three and four times a week.
T shirt and jeans for me.

did it seem to you that a lot of congregations had more than the usual sick people in them when compared with their worldly neighbors?.
could it be a common problem among jw's?.
do you think it may be mold?.
Metatron,
That was a great post. Extremely thougtful.

did any of you go to prison either in the vietnam era, or earlier?.
i was in severel prisons:.

All---
Just a short note and sad story,
While in the maximum security prison in Springfield, Missouri, one of the guys got sick. His name was Russell Peters, and I remember him being from West Virginia.
Anyway, upon examination, he had terminal cancer (20-21 years old). He was given "immediate release" and got to go home. 6 months later he was dead.
God, remember him please.

Hopelessly stained--
Just a note, I was in prison first at the FYC (federal youth camp) on Mt. Lemon, Tucson, Arizona. Is that where you went?
Who did you go see?
Anyway in January of 1967 the gov't shut down the Mt. Lemon camp and sent half of us to Springfield, MO, via, La Tuna, Texas and El Reno, Oklahoma. We were about two weeks in transit.
The other half were sent to Safford, Arizona, to the youth camp there (prison) to be available to fight forest fires.
Do you remember if you went there or Mt. Lemon.
I knew all of the guys transferred, a whole bunch of guys from California.

i hurts me alot that i have to say goodbye to all of you.
whether or not i joined in a topic, you all (well, most) had a way of making me feel like part of the family here.
you have all made me laugh and made me cry.
Thought I was going to need CPR for a minute.
Your post and the dissonance of the pentagram made me think maybe you were really going back.

there's alot of jw "bashing" here.. if you have left the org., please inform me on what it was that convinced you to depart?
we have friends that are jws and we want to know how best to deal with them.
some are constantly giving us literature.
We were trained for decades on how to bash other religions for not listening to the Bible. I guess we're pretty good at it now that the WT isn't concerned about what the Bible says.

Peter123,
While I was in I wrote letters to a bunch of different ones in the congregation. Maybe got one or two letters from them the whole time.
Didn't get any visits from my congregation.

its a wt article on their official website called the "the danger zone".
"the danger zone"... isn't that an old kenny loggins song for the top gun movie soundtrack?.
here is the wt "danger zone"... .
Carla,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the point of LDH's quote was to show there was no substance to the whole article.

much has been made over possible motives behind the watchtower society joining the un/dpi.
my response is currently the same as it was in my first letter to them, "who cares why [they] did it?
" really, this matter is so simple it can be summed up by answering two teensy little questions:.
Auld Soul,
Beautiful piece of work, thank you.
Also enjoyed all the good comments that all of you made. You guys are amazing. Tuned in! I appreciate being here to see your intelligence at work.
