LMS-Chef... Does god speak to you directly so that you know you are doing the right thing? If not how do you know that what your priest is telling isn't just their interpertation of what god says? Did God tell you the bible was his word? If not how do you know that it is? Just curious....

Slippers / shoes at book studies

was there ever an issue as to whether you were / weren't allowed to wear shoes at a group book study in someones house , so everyone had to dump their shoes at the door?.

I have been to bookstudies like that. Always irritated me because i wear lace up boots all the time and it is a pain to take them off and put them on. I don't worry about the floors in my house. They are all hardwood and like 150 years old, i figure shoe traffic isn't going to make a difference...

Why would an intelligent reasonably powerful being like Satan (if he exists) challenge god in a battle he knows he cannot win? I think Satan's purpose is to open the eyes of mankind. To remind them that free will isn't really free will if you are punished for exercising it. Satan is more of a sacrifice than Jesus ever could be because for satan there will be no resurrection. He has a point to make, perhaps it's "God shouldn't make thinking creatures if he is just going to boss them around." And for that point he is going to be killed. In my opinion that isn't evil, it's noble. (this is all just ideas because i don't really think any of them are any more than fables.)

The New System, What will we remember?
by drew sagan inthe reason for this post is based on a conversation i had a few months ago with an elder and a very stubborn publisher.
we where out in service and these two guys started talking about how in the new system everything of the past will be forgotten, "the former thigns will not be called to mind", you know how it goes.
anyway i cound't take it anymore.

My entire life! Every month i would fudge at least a little. That's one of the reasons i think that i have never really believed in God. I have never felt accountable to him/her.
