Some claim that they already found and offered the red heiffer and her "services" have been secretly rendered. I don't know. And it's not likely to be commonly shared if it has been done. It would have to be three years of age and "perfect". This is a sacrifice that even the rabbis over the centuries do not completely understand the meaning of so I certainly cannot comment on why it is done (yes, yes, the surface reason is "cleansing") But there are always at least 4 layers to everything Torah and Mitzvot related.

The orthodox branch of Judaism has forever held that one day they will rebuild the temple for a third time and resume sacrifices adn biblical Judaism (thier definition of it, that is).
They claim to have the red heifer. It may have already been offered in order to cleanse Yisroel of its sins.
Yes, it would be very volatile to do at this time, with the whole Al-Aqsa thing.

superstition sparks toilet cleaning craze
by BlackSwan of Memphis inhttp://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=oddlyenoughnews&storyid=2007-03-01t193300z_01_t271092_rtrukoc_0_us-japan-luck.xml&src=rss.
tokyo (reuters) - cleanliness has long been next to godliness for the hygiene-conscious japanese, but fortune-tellers are now advising those who want to succeed in life to start by scrubbing the smallest room.. "cleaning the toilet to attract luck" published this month is the latest in a series of books advising readers on how to attract good fortune using a brush and an array of cleaning fluids.. "don't just wipe the floor, polish it," the book instructs.
"it's important to maintain a positive mood while cleaning.".

Can't beat a clean toilet, no matter what the reason.
Stopping up your drains when you leave the house is good feng shui as well.

This is one thing that makes me sad about the organization; how it stifles human potential. I know and knew so many brilliant, talented people growing up who will never realize that potential. Even now, those I know who've left seem to be held back in some innate way. I see it in myself at times, even though I am loathe to admit it, that I do not live up to my personal potential. I get close to greatness then it seems that old hardwiring in my head recoils and says "you don't deserve this". I mean, this is pretty universal to the human experience, but JW's are especiallly stifling to the unfolding of the Self and all the potential therein.
*sigh*

A life beyond ...
by AuldSoul ini now have a life beyond jehovah's witnesses.
i am able to impact kids in their development into young adults who have risen above challenging circumstances.
these children are always impoverished but may be challenged in other ways, as well.. my job is to mold them into productive citizens, contributing adults.

Warm sunshine on your skin after a long cold winter.
A spontaneous hug from a child.
..or for that matter, a spontaneous hug from an adult (sans ulterior motives, that is--unless it's someone from whom you welcome ulterior motives--ahem).
A soft, knowing look from your lover across a crowded or not so crowded room.
Laying on the pillow next to One, speaking of things that you have not been able to share with anyone else.

Any positive experiences with the JWs?
by greendawn inwe all talk about our negative experiences with the jws and no doubt most were negative but weren't there any positive experiences with some of the few decent jws around?
i recall an old jw who was of the anointed and who was very benign, knowledgable, supportive and opposed to much that the dubs were doing especially the lack of love among the congregations.
also another very good natured dub who would always reward me whenever i gave him a little help with his business.

Most experiences were negative. Potentially damaging even. But in an effort to be balanced, I try to seek the positives as well since it is an undeniable part of me.
I remember "get-togethers" as a young child in Weatherford; watermelon, catfish, boiled peanuts. One of my best friends in the world at the time, "C" and I playing Squirrel Family out in the tall tall weeds behind his house (we would make little paths and nests out of the grass). Then our mothers would have to pick out the chiggers (it's a Texas thang) from our bodies. So, some good warm fuzzies came out of the witnesses. I think in the earlier days, the witnesses were a tad kinder, warmer. This seemed to change as they grew (as cults will, eventually becoming religions). *sigh* it is the way of things.

How did the "Truth" set YOU free ?
by JH inthe bible says that the truth will liberate you or set you free.. the watchtower applies this to their religion as if their "truth" sets people free.. if that's the case, how were you set free when you became a jw?.

Talk on Apostates
by IslandBrother inhave you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?
by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.
have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

You know the most wickedly delicious part of my bridge burning, my sweet??? Is that I don't have to loan them money anymore or call and hear how pitifully strapped financially they are. It is sad but that is true. I will be here with open arms for them whenever they need me but it will be Me they embrace and not the ego projection that they wish me to be.
The gods are dead, long live the gods!!
