Hey, BTW, a voice (Jeehoobie?) told me that this thread is going to get weird(er).
hello darlings.
well one thing that i don't feel stupid for is the statement- owww did you feel jehovah's holy spirit!
i don't know about you but i have never felt jehovah's spirit while i was in the org, .

growing up, i had, like we all do, archtypes regarding the way relationships are supposed to work, what a marriage is supposed to look like, and we use these archtypes as guides to our behavior, the sort of people who we find attractive, etc.. according to jung, there are also "built-in" archtypes that arise from the collective unconscious.
he found that men and women have in their psyches archtypes of the opposite sex, anima and animus.. the anima is the personification of all feminine psychological tendencies within a man, the archetypal feminine symbolism within a man's unconscious.

Hmmmm....Texas, Colorado................how's that working out?
is she just an adorable "plant" to get our minds off 9/11 and iraq and w's ineptitude?
is her cuteness a manipulative "ploy" to keep the public hooked on inane "mind pablum" (pun intended)?
is that really her hair, her eyes - or a clever, diabolical composite of tom and katie perpetrated by the bush administration?

Are Tom and Katie willing participants of the plot, having "sold out" to the leader of the free world?

How do these people sleep at night? I mean: the parents, the GB, and their attorney. Murderers all.
the organization of jehovah's witnesses boasts of having true brotherly love for one another.
i always believed they did, although i never felt it growing up in it.
i reckoned that there was something wrong with me since i never felt that "joy" and "spirit of love" that supposedly permeated the congregations.
When you don't see the love, and you won't, you conclude it must be something wrong with you, or with your local congregation. But you never quite make the leap to conclude it's an organization-wide problem.
Also a tactic of multi-level marketing ('pyramid' schemes, no pun intended):
"You can't recruit new members to sell our cleaning products? What's wrong with you? BillyJoe Bob over here has more business than he can handle! New recruits are knocking on his door at all hours, dying to get into the program! He just bought his third mansion - this one is in Hawaii! Look at these pictures of his new Mercedes! Maybe you're just not working hard enough................?"
i seem to recall the wts teaching this many years ago.
the idea was that "apostacy" was the ultimate, unforgiveable sin, because it was.
tantamount to "sinning against the holy spirit".....does anyone recall hearing this idea, that "apostates", along with our buddy satan, will suffer.
Wanderer - that was worth waiting for!
when i think things are bad, and i'm feeling sorry for myself, i think of stephen hawking and the obstacles he has had to overcome.
granted, he's one of the smartest people on the planet, but he's still had quite a hard time with his disability.
i just think so highly of him.
Lovely. I had the rare treat of meeting Stephen Hawking a few years ago. It happened like this:
One evening I was at my job downtown in Santa Barbara and went to drop some mail in the post box. There he was in his wheelchair on the sidewalk - alone. I looked at him, nearly speechless and said, "You're Stephen Hawking!" Brill, I know. He said something in his electronic voice like, "Yes. How are you?" I freaked. About that time his people came along. They had walked ahead looking at how to negotiate some construction that was impeding their destination - a second floor nightclub. I read in the local paper the next day that he'd been in town to speak at the university and was seen "dancing" in his wheelchair at some local spots.
The encounter was a thrill for me, I can tell you!

A Kingdom Hall is too small for kids to have a pool of friends - No wonder they bail out as soon as they can.
So true, Moshe. You make friends among whoever there is available and it was not always a good match! My best girlfriend at the hall was a snobby show-off and well-to-do and I was poor and painfully shy. Her mother was a 'queen bee' and so the elders were always singling out the daughter for special attention. On the other hand my folks were 'weak.' She and I being thrown together all the time simply because we were near the same age caused my already low self-esteem to plummet.
i guess i've been out too long, cause this surprised me.
i was visiting my mom recently in modesto, california and was walking into a walmart (hey!
we don't have one where i live!
Why use modern technology to spead the Good News Earthwide when you can set up store front dispays?!It's so diabolical, it just might work! Why didn't Jesus think of this?
I have a JW aunt who is in frequent agony over shunning her two grown daughters for the past 20-30 years. They both now have grown children - who do not know their grandmother. This is evil sh-t, visited generation upon generation. Isn't that in the Bible?
