  this week's bible reading leviticus chap 19 - 21 - my opening remarks

  so.. some asshole visits another asshole but a mob erupts and wants to rape the visiting asshole.. the host asshole offers his daughter and the visiting asshole's concubine to appease the mob.. sure enough.. the concubine ends up gang raped and murdered.

  in the morning the visiting asshole loads her up on his donkey, takes her home, dismembers her body into 12 pieces and sends it to all the tribes to incite war.. so an army of 22,000 is formed, some prick goes and asks jehovah if they should go and destroy the gang raping mob.. and jehovah says 'yes.. do it.

  they go to fight and loose all 22,000 die.

  i'm new here but not new to researching and questioning the jw beliefs.

  i have quite a story.... one that's been haunting me for awhile... but first, i'd like to hear what people have to say about this topic question, please.. -gigi.

  There is a beauty in letting go of all your beliefs and hopes, go to square one. Really come to terms with the idea of "this is it" let it sink in, then start over. See if you needed those hopes all along, with the fear of the unknown fear of death and so on. There is a zen like feeling that happens when you come to terms with the fact that the only person in control of anything is you, and you aren't in control of much, when you realize that it is ok to not have all the answers and know the outcome of everything, at that point is when you really start to live and learn. try it.

  so since i blew up at my family for being self righteous hate mongers, my uncle sent me a huge letter calling my ignorant and uncaring.

  to which i exploded back with an email.

  may have gone a bit too far on that one, but whatever what is done is done.

  My uncle gave me an example of the Gibeonites, who joined with the Israelites, I felt like asking him, was that because they loved YHWH? Or scared of being killed by him and his goat herding tribesmen?

  DFing is the same, no? do this because you are afraid. So I am not afraid of anything so I wont be afraid of DFing, I'll do my best to avoid it, but I don't fear it.

  Epiphany moment this morning!!

  after all my reading, conversations, study, meditating, video watching, etc.. this for me, could very well be the "end all" topic to clearly define why being a jw is useless.. there is zero scriptural evidence that following the rules of a "governing body" of men is required to be acceptable to god or to gain salvation ( everlasting life in paradise ).. when asked by anyone, this will be my reply.

  "show me the evidence".... i don't care if it cries out, "i'm an apostate"!.

  whomever hears the comment will not be able to ignore it.

  Yes I remember walking into assemblies and laughing at Apostates yelling at us, but they were also thumping the bible. But I think things are different now, I think we are as mad and as frustrated, but we know if you want to be affective and smart there is a way to try to do it. Something I lost control of when i blew up at my family, I lost my famous cool.

  Here was my original rant... I usually ignore all this until they stop but kept getting emails to no end. My response that probably made my families jaws hit the floor was this: (sorry for grammar errors etc, i was pissed.)

  "I think its barbaric and being obsessed with a global genocide of unbelievers makes us more like ISIS than I care to feel like. It’s a fine line, and I the idea behind it is similar.

  Doesn’t build my faith, or make me feel the end is any closer and I have watched some of the actual videos, them burning someone alive who they feel doesn’t have what they consider “The Truth”. Maybe more witnesses should watch the actual videos. Because emails and discussions like this I see a similar blood lust that ISIS displays the only difference is one I wishing for it and saying god will do it and the other is wishing for it and acting on it, but the spirit feels the same. I was trying not to say anything but I keep getting them. And trying to predict “The End”, how many times can that not happen before you feel lied to? A “cry wolf” situation. In that story were the people blamed for not believing the boy when he said this it the last time? No because it creates a underlying distrust. You won’t have to go to school, you won’t have to get a job, you won’t have to have kids, you won’t get old… this is the last car I’ll ever own, this is it, this year, now this is it."
