Well for them what is the rush now, 100years came and went, we are on generation version 3.0, if anything now, they may want the preaching to drag out slower. It's buying them time

Why does Bible present God as too imperfect?

genesis 1:31 says: god saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

in other words, god rated his works as perfect..

if this is true, why his later works are too imperfect?

Watch Cosmos, the earth and its cycles haven't been perfect for long and are not even now, the sun gives you cancer... they earth has destroyed itself many times in the past. There were embalances in plant life to bacteria for example that made the atmosphere become toxic with carbon dioxide rich air.

I do 100% agree that the bible portrays god as having analog human thinking. The flood is my go to example, obviously god used miracles... to round up animals, make all that rain and so on. Why would and efficient, loving god DROWN nearly every living human (adults and children), almost every animal on the planet, vegetation and so on, when we could snap his fingers and the wicked people would just cease existing if thats what he was so pissed about. But to be so wasteful and destructive... really????

this week's bible reading leviticus chap 19 - 21 - my opening remarks

so.. some asshole visits another asshole but a mob erupts and wants to rape the visiting asshole.. the host asshole offers his daughter and the visiting asshole's concubine to appease the mob.. sure enough.. the concubine ends up gang raped and murdered.

in the morning the visiting asshole loads her up on his donkey, takes her home, dismembers her body into 12 pieces and sends it to all the tribes to incite war.. so an army of 22,000 is formed, some prick goes and asks jehovah if they should go and destroy the gang raping mob.. and jehovah says 'yes.. do it.

they go to fight and loose all 22,000 die.

The reality I believe like Island man, is the bible is guilty of plagiarizing not only other sources but even itself at times. These stories are no more real than Caleb and Sophia, but they were produced if you will to prove a moral point or political cause. Esther is the retelling of a completely pagan story and if you research it it's not even a question! So they took some liberties here in borrowing a similar story.

my background, born-in, still go to meetings for family reasons, i am inactive however.

if you were to ask when i first woke up i would say 2010 with the overlapping generation garbage.
