no more preaching to be done
by DaCheech inwell sort of:.
today, i heard my token sunday talk.. the brother somehow brought up the following:.
"many are speculating that there are many changes coming soon...... including the end of preaching work....... well, just because the faithful and discreet slave has ended the weekly study weeting........... this does not mean that all other things will cease.

I think they may change methods and suggest contributing more (since you are saving gas money).
Or maybe they will start going to hospitals, more laundry mats .. places "where the people are" and stop the door to door work.

What's Your View Of Jehovah's Witnesses As Individual Persons?
by minimus indo you think they make the best parents?.
the best children?.
the best workers?.

They are not the best workers! In fact after I quit my last job (I had already left the org and become somewhat normal by this point), a JW interviewed for my replacement. My supervisor told me that she secretly hoped they didn't hire her because she couldn't handle having another JW to work with. She said they were too demanding of certain times off, refused some of the overtime, and wouldn't greet the customers with "Happy Holidays" and the like.

My apostate kids
by Honesty inyesterday, my son told me that he and his sister love christian rock music.. .
while their jw mom is not looking they give it up.... .
evidently, they are proving to be immune from the cult's kool-aid.. .

I wouldn't tell .. I would just play it cool. I wouldn't want the kids to think being normal is a big deal. Just compliment them on anything they do that is normal but anti-JW .. (you know like want to get someone a birthday present, grow a goat tee, or bring home a Casting Crowns CD)

Here's a small example of why I am not motivated to work:
(I work in the store in accouting where we have an accounting department at the corporate office -- most of what we do is rent stuff out.) Our collections department gets paid based upon how many people are past due. Part of my job is to help them in any way I can because I have the power to stop us from selling to them and threatening to pick up the item they are renting if they won't pay the rent. I usually am very good at helping with collections. The thing that doesn't motivate me is that if I do go above and beyond, the collections department sees it in their paycheck and gets commended. I get nothing for that. No one even notices if I do anything. So why on earth would I bend over backwards to help?? In fact, my boss gets a little upset if I do too much because he says when he needs me to do things for him, I won't be available because they are depending too much on me.
They stopped payments into the pension deal. So anyone who hasn't contributed yet because they haven't been there 5 years, is dropped along with any new hire. There reason was because only my section of the company that was bought from another company had a pension program so they were going to stop it. It wasn't "fair" for only my division to get pension.
I just have to vomit this out -- This company sells the weirdest combination of items: Wholesale food, welding supplies, natural gas as a utility, and medical supplies.
I have a friend who is in the jop placement business. I'm going to go visit her at lunch and see what she says.

Be honest. Would having more money make you happier?
by nicolaou init's not that simple of course but i would certainly appreciate the freedom and time that cash in the bank would give me.
.
how about you?.

I think money makes you happier up until the middle class line. Once you reach middle class, more money doesn't = happiness.

District Conventions are awful if you have kids. (Learn why!)
by easyreader1970 ini know that many of you have not been to distric conventions in some time, but what i am about to describe is a recent trend.. 1. more people than seats.
for the past six or seven years, they've tried cramming too many congregations into one convention hall at one time.
in many cases, if you do not get to the convention more than an hour before the program starts and you need more than a couple of seats, you cannot find seats.

I enjoyed the conventions more when I was a kid than an adult. As a kid you still get naptime and as a teenager you can look for dates.

How about asking for more work to do - or think up a project of your own?
Alternatively is your job something you could do from home - perhaps ask if you can work at home for part of the day (then at least if you've no work to do sometimes, you can get on with something else and not get wound up about wasting time!)
Just thinking out loud here!!
#1) I have pleny of work to do always. That is not the problem. The problem is that no one cares if I do it or not. I'm really fast (yes, tooting my own horn) so I can get done in a couple of hours what it takes some all day to do. Then no one notices if I'm slacking the rest of the day.
#2) I can't do this at home
#3) Why work more to get paid the same when I can get paid for being on JWD?? LOL...

Granny ..
Remember how we used to say, "Everyone has a desire to live forever -- That's how we know the paradise stuff is all true."
So what do ya think now?
I hope the days left are wonderful! (We know the days after our death are wonderful!)
