  my judicial meeting took place on monday night.

  i was a bit annoyed because the meeting centered on my private beliefs - things that i've already spoken to the elders about in the past many times before.

  i don't think i handled myself as well as i wanted to, but i guess i did ok under the circumstances.

  What makes your situation worse is that you know the truth and yet you consciously reject it. I hope for your sake and those who love and care about you that are faithfully serving Jehovah that you turn from your wicked and apostate course and once again find spiritual refreshment among God's people.

  are dating methods accurate??

  questions questions im just wondering are modern day dating methods reliable i ask this because i was told there are different types of dating methods to test fossils etc for instance testing bones which using dating methods say 10 yrs ago are now classed unreliable i say this because i was told that historians dated human remains back to 20 million yrs i think and with a more modern technique it s now dated at only 5000 yrs i think so the question is can we trust todays modern dating methods or will they sometime in the near future be more accurate

  So you admit that such dating methods are just guesses.

  Why not rather trust G-d's Word the Holy Bible when it authoritatively speaks of man coming into existence on the sixth day of creation? TRUE science does not conflict with the accurate historical records we can confidently confirm as the written word of YAHWEH G-d himself.

  i notice when i am in chat a lot of people take "smoke" breaks.

  i wonder how many of ya'll took up smoking after the left the org?

  personally i have tried a ciggy a time or two but didn't really take to it...if i am going to smoke something i want it to make me...uuummm happy

  Smoking is disgusting.

  That is exactly why I have 3 or 4 cigarettes a day. Because I at times enjoy being disgusting. But not all the time. ;)

  I tried pot twice and it was not a good experience.

  there are many of you out there that believes all jws protects child molesters.

  i am a jw (for now) and i can tell you , i have never and never will protect a child molester.

  i don't believe when i choose to live in society i will be a protecter of rapist or child molesters there either.

  : They don't give a damn about these children if they did, they would have spoken up long before silent lambs came along.

  I can't disagree that some people have taken this issue and ran with it to make JWs look far worse than they are.

  However, I personally knew very little about the JW policy on child molestors. I knew a couple of capable brothers who used to be elders but were removed for some reason and never said prayers or led the field service groups. Now I know more, and why that was.

  Silentlambs has provided a lot of good information and raised an interesting and confrontational issue that most of us knew next to nothing about. If we did, this would have been discussed at length years ago.

  i'm wondering if the majority here were seriously conservative squeaky clean dubs?

  i took the whole thing very seriously.

  there seems to be such a fun element here - i can't imagine everyone being those dull folk all decked out in their wt uniform with accompanying plastic expressions.. marilyn

  I can count on one hand the bad things I did. I can recall a thousand things I shunned because good little JW boys didn't do those things (like school sports, or birthdays, or playing Axis and Allies, or even hanging out with worldly kids).

  Let's see. When I got married, I watched a couple of R-rated movies, and ordered a pay-per-view boxing event (the one where the dude parachuted into the ring and then got the CRAP beat out of him). When my wife and I were engaged, we fooled around some. When I was 13-14 I used to sneak out at night and hang out at a video arcade until four in the morning. That's about it.

  I tried very hard to be a good JW. I threw out much of my music collection to make my dad happy (innocent stuff like Jeff Beck and Steely Dan). I never got near smokes or pot. Gad dang it, I never even kissed a girl until I was 18! Can you believe that shit?!?!?

  can anyone give me scriptural proof that we will be resurrected to life on earth?

  i can't find anything except scriptures that talk about a resurrection to heaven.

  Funny, I don't see anything in the so-called New Testament that changes the Jewish hope of life eternal on earth. Can you point me to even one NT verse that says people leave this planet to live elsewhere?

  there was a story i used to tell a lot about a scientist who worked in the nuclear power industry.

  this scientist had a job of public relations and would go around to different groups around the country.

  he was afraid to fly anywhere though, so the company provided him a chauffer to take him from city to city.. somewhere in the course of giving the same speech over and over again, the chauffer tells him: doc, ive heard you give this same speech now a couple of dozen times, and i have it memorized word for word.

  wt advance directive.

  there is substantial discussion of this topic in a previous thread that contains the opinions, some informed - some not, regarding the validity of the directive.

  i believe that a useful place to begin is by reviewing the medical literature.

  Thank you for your reply to anewperson. Others would not have replied with such tact.

  I can imagine how directing AJWRB -- logistically, strategically, writing correspondence, researching, etc. -- could take up to 20 hours a week. And a lot of money. And anewperson is forgetting about the significant reforms and public disclosures that have taken place in the recent past.

  I am glad that reasonable people like yourself, Sam, Wayne and the doc are working at this endeavor.
