New user in Pittsburgh, Pa
by somlat ini feel a little odd in posting this..... i am a 39 year old former witness, former elder, former just about everything.
been through much in the last two years... realized not all things i believed were true to me, not all things in the faith work the way i thought.
no anger about the past... i did what i believed to be true to myself, and what others do is their decision.

Quick survey for apostates - please everyone just yes or no answer
by slimboyfat indo the other witnesses with whom you associate/once associated in general know that you are an apostate or have apostate inclinations?
the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.
in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".

Are JW taking advantage of so called "worldly" people?
by Truthissimple ini hope this is not offensive in anyway, but i have a freind whos jw and i have an idea of the concept of "worldly" people, this may sound stupid but i personally think that they "use" or take advantage of the worldly system of things.
not that i am a jw or have been one to know how it works, or what they are permitted to do.
but here is my question.

Last straw?
by happyout inso, my marriage has been in trouble for some time.
my husband and i have totally different goals, and ideas of "partnership".
the last few months have been even more difficult than usual, he has been out of work, and not picking up any extra load around the house.

Questions
by parlay in1. if satan was not prevented from infiltrating god's heavenly organization an d causing perfect angels to follow his lead,
what would prevent him from doing the same to an organization of imperfect men claiming to be god's earthly organization?
(actually wouldn't it be a more effective way of misleading the masses?

There may be unknown forces controlling things behind the scenes
could it be the devil and his demons?

HOW MANY THOUGHT THEY WOULD SURVIVE
by beezknees ini'm sure this will have been discussed before..but i am new here, so i was wondering how many of you when you where active jw's actually beleived you were going to survive armageddon.
i personally being brought up in the 'truth' used to lie in bed frightened of it coming or world events always thinking i was too bad a person to survive, and even as an adult i always felt i was never doing enough or good enough to be 'chosen' for survival when the end came u were always made to feel like you should be doing more as though you could earn your salvation.
i have talked to someone else who i know has left and they felt the same, i was wondering how many of you guys actually beleived you would make it through armageddon
