  144000....DO THE NUMBERS ADD UP?????

  as jws we were told only 144000 go to heaven from the time of christ right up to this day.it dawned on me before i was baptized one day during my study that the numbers dont add up.

  the brother was telling me that the roman persecutions of the christians were killing thousands every week.

  initially, within weeks of jesus death, there were 5000 christians at least in jerusalem.

  i decided to start this topic when ozziepost shared the experience of a bethel representative telling him and mrs. ozzie "and don't forget, we've got your children!

  it's important for us to hear these experiences and to share them with each other.

  it helps us tear down the mistaken beliefs that the incidents that happen to us are not isolated ones, but are in fact par for the course when one parts ways with the jws and wts.

  The unkindest thing that happened to me was at the death of my father. I had been df'd for

  eight years. My father died in 1988, the C.O. conducted the funeral and he said little to

  comfort the family but spent the whole time talking about the prodigal son directed at me.

  Non J.W. friends of mine were so upset they wanted to punch him out. That was probably

  the worst witness he ever gave. Non of my fathers family were dubs.

  Did you criticise/expose the WTS after leaving?

  after leaving the jws as df/ed or disass/ed were you willing to expose them for what they are to others, or were you unwilling to do so because you still felt respect for them for being the "truth"?

  I tell everyone who is interested how they divide families. Since I was df'd many years ago I

  have joined another church. The people cannot believe how my siblings and children shun me

  from leaving the J.W's They comment that it not a very loving organization. My parents died

  shunning me. What a cult.

  i have noticed that the kh has a heirarchy.

  there are the elders families, and young couples that everyone wants to do things with because they have all these things in common.

  i have had a quick look and found no references to this, so - here goes..as in the mag we picked up on sunday.. worldwide % increase over 2004 = 1.3%.

  memorial partakers 8524 (compared to 8570 in 2004).

  most european and nth american lands show pretty static figs - britain 1% increase, canada 0%, germany 0%, france 1%, usa 0%... but spare a thought for the inhabitants of zambia where 1 person in 90 is a reporting witness, must be hell going down to the local market!

  On this Forum my Light is getting Dimmer

  i don't know if it is a good or bad thing but my view of jws has got dimmer since i joined jwd.

  the reason i'm not sure is because i don't dislike the jws per se as i've met some good people but at the same time i feel more suspicious of these people's drive and motive - i'm talking about the ones i know personally.

  i find that disconserting and uncomfortable.

  An activists conference???

  wouldnt it be cool if we could get all of the activists together at a conference and discuss ways to counter the wt society.

  we could make it a 2 day event, or even a 1 day event.

  people such as barbara anderson, blondie, danny haszard, and the many more people who actively work to expose the jw cult.
