JW's kids must NOT attend nursery school
by aligot ripounsous ini thought that after some 30 years as a jw the wts's teaching is so familiar that i can hardly find anything new in assembly talks, which may be the reason why, as many attendants do, i gently noze down and opening an eye from time to time is enough to catch up the drift of an all too well known talk.
still, i've been genuinely surprised last sunday by a point a bethel visitor rose in one of the p.m talks, namely that jws are not advised to send their kids to school until an age when he (she) can take a personal stand re.
xmas, birthdays, etc.

Attacking education from both ends.
If they really had the truth they wouldn't have to be so scared of book-learnin'. This whole subject just boils my blood. For one thing, I HATED having to "take a stand" for their crazy crap when I was 6 years old. I was already nervous just going to school, then they have the flag salute every morning. Great! The other little kids would stare and a couple actually tried to put my hand over my heart for me. I jerked it away like my hand was in a fire!
Then there's all the holidays. A coloring pages for every one of 'em.
Nowdays, if a kid hasn't stepped foot in a classroom before age 6, they are horribly behind.
Being raised JW is stressful. Little children really aren't prepared to deal with that kind of stress. It's abusive, imho.

it is an artcicle about a 14 year old witness boy with leukemia who died because of refusing a blood transfusion.
doctors said he would have had a 70 % chance of surviving to live a normal life if he had accepted blood.

Who in their right mind would let a JW aunt raise their kid in the first place?
Something is seriously wrong here. You can't enter into a legal contract at 14. You can't really do anything at 14. Judges are scared to go against religious freedoms.
I've seen other stories when children were denied medical care at all because it's against their religion. It's pitiful and it's a crying shame.

Idea on what we can do with all our old meeting clothes....
by avishai inthey used to have a donation place where i live that gave low income women business attire for job interviews, why they did'nt have one for men i dunno.
they're no longer around, but i'd like to start a non-profit w/ clothes, etc.
for low income, homeless etc.

I heard it mentioned from the platform to avoid the Salvation Army. It's a religious backed organization--along the lines of the YMCA.
Seems to me it would be best to give it to homeless or out of work people. Maybe it would someone who is having to change careers (or clean up their lives) and can't afford to dress up.

I would loved to have seen the whole thing!
Prince seems to be trying to leave all his good music behind. It's like he's embarassed that he wrote some of them. I used to love Prince back in the say. Sign O the Times is my favorite--it's great!!
Why would he want his fans to cease and desist? Doesn't he know he won't sell a damn thing without them?
