  several weeks ago this board obtained a copy of the australian wt branch 2005 financial statements.

Her eyesight is shot....it is writing by memory. She can see the line above but the lines gradually curl down like a fan..   Totally depressed and don't know what to do......

  i don't know how some of you are around this time of year, but i'm just really depressed lately, more so this time of year it seems.

  because it is nearing the memorial time and now that i have a son, i am totally lost as to what to do and what to teach him concerning religion.

  my own youth was stolen by the wtbs and has made me a total wreck at times.

  I reckon that you have answered your own questions.......

  Mate, just pull the plug and let all the dirty water wash away. Just call it quits with the WTS as from now. Walk away. A long way away. The further you walk away the more you will realise how non-sensible that faith is. Truly.

  Do not look for a substitute faith for a long, long time. Maybe 10 or 20 years. It may take that long to be rid of all the scarring.

  Your little kid is going to love his parents watching him play sport on weekends. You'll love having barbeques with his mate's parents after the game.

  There is a beautiful life out there behind the Watch Tower curtain.

  Ode to Mother...

  A young girl in the Great Depression..had hardships. Got into an abusive amrriage and was eventually left to support five children, no money, no welfare, nothing.

  This old biddy just worked flat out- sewing clothes, d 2 d selling food blenders, taking family photos, just anything. She's never been given a penny by anyone. AT age 68 she went to college and became a travel agent and opened her own shop. She sold it at a tidy profit at age 84.

  A muck-up at the hospital 6 months after she retired kept her there for 5 months. At one stage a doctor told me that it would be best to take her off life-support but I told him to get rooted. He had no idea how tough she is.

  Since then we joined a Buddhist/Zen type Japanese church and late2004 visted their headquarters in Japan for 10 days. Acouple of months later we went to Calcutta in India and found her mother's grave. It was destroyed except for the headstone so we had the grave re-built. She wants her ashes to be there with her Mum's. She was 2 when her Mum died there in 1919.

  I moved in with me Mum 14 years ago when everything was looking really black. It was only to be for a couple of months but I'm still here. It's a beautiful home in a bush setting - heaps of wild life. Mum just loves it.

  Boxing Day she mixed up the taps in the shower and spent a month in the Burns Ward and again the doctors feared the worst but they just understand this old-type stamina.

  Every morning she wakes up bright and happy. Which annoys me because it means that I can't complain about anything.

  i mean, i come on this website, looking for the more intelligent conversations, the more interesting topics, things that are not just fluff... these things that compel me to think, react and of course, respond... lately nothing has made me want to respond.... i mean dont get me wrong, i love my fluff here and there, but i mean, why is it all fluff now???

  where has all the intelligent convo gone???

  or am i just missing something?.

  Blame it on the Jan 15 WatchTower. All of a sudden we lost our regular JW posters.

  The lurkers are still out there though and occasionally one of them (like AirDust, I suspect) can't help themselves but come back in.

  Where is PMJ when we need him? A lot of other regular so-called postates have gone quiet too.

  But they are still reading every word.
