Dear Uncle Bruce......
Don't scare MentalAsAnything away. This site hasn't been as much fun since the Jan 15 Watch Tower warned all the dubbers away. I think you were on hols when PMJ was here..Gee I miss him...(By the by..I took note of your advice when I said I was bored the other night).

I just got hold of the WTS Aust branch 2005 Financial Report
by jwfacts inas mentioned in another thread, the watchtower bible & tract society of australia is refusing to give me my personal records, though i believe they are supposed to under the aust privacy act.
they claim to not be under the legislation, which exempts businesses with less than 3 million turnover.
anyway, i purchased their financial report that is lodged with asic to find out what the turnover is ($16million).

Does the $30 mill assets include all the KH's? Or are they owned by the local cong.
Wow..I'm in a Carer's Pension and my donations to humanitarian relief work (Medecine sans Frontiers) were about half of what a church with over $16 mill revenue gave.

A GREAT BIG "THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" - PLUS UPDATE
by Dansk indear all,.
i thought i'd best make a new thread rather than add my message to the vigil thread, for example, as it might not otherwise get noticed.. yesterday afternoon i was allowed home from the hospital - but only until wednesday morning!
as many of you will know, i have been in christie cancer hospital in manchester, england, ready to undergo a stem cell transplant (in my case, stem cells taken from my blood to be returned later).

That's right Barry - $1 billion. A lot for a country of only 20 million.
George W. offered whatever assistance may be needed to-day. Not necessary but it was a kind offer.
A convoy of over 100 army trucks and low-loaders moved in to-day. The Air Force are sending up choppers full of tarpaulins from Sydney. QANTAS donated and flew in 6,000 meals today also.
The poor bloody farmers can't get cyclone insurance up there and will be a year or more before they get another income.
I agree with Bob Katter (local Member of Parliament. I'll happily pay $20 a kilo for bananas if it helps those poor bastards get back on their feet. Definitely no cheap imports from the Phillipines.
What sort of wind can snap power poles like twigs? It's hard to believe that no-one was killed.
You're a funny bloke Rekless...........

Hell yeah Rekless.....Not much of the money got through to help. S.E.Asia is so corrupt. It is in their nature.
Like, container loads of material arrived at Sri Lanka (that island south of India) where the country had been devastated. The local Custom Officials wouldn't allow it to be released until certain "costs" were paid. Their own people were suffering but they wouldn't move without a bribe.
I don't know why we bother.
Mate, I was only joking with uncbruce about scabbing $120 off you. Trust me. (I thought that you had gone to bed).

Unc.... If Rekless has both short and long term memory loss....maybe it will all go away.
Actually if he decides to camp here I reckon that I'd be able to hit him up for another $120.

It is interesting that Australian donated over US$150 million dollars to the victims of the tsunami in Indonesea and elsewhere..A very large part of it was from the general populace. That is over $7 per head of the population. Australia's population is a tenth of of the USA. (Hard to believe in view of our Olympic Golds).
But the locals are very independent and insist on helping themselves. They don't want donations from overseas countries - not that any would offer.
