by ColdRedRain insomething i got off the myspace.com jw group.

i wanted to mention, to all active jehovah's witnesses, that a brother has called to my attention that he is being harassed by apostates.

CO Comments
by dothemath inthe circuit overseer in a neighboring circuit has been telling audiences in his visits to the congregations the following:.
the governing body feels that the massacre in rwanda happened because satan wanted to get at the witnesses in that country.. i agree that satanic influence could have been behind it..........but do you think the thousands of casualties were caused solely to affect the small minority of witnesses there?.
i suppose it's the same logic that ww1 + ww2 happened to get at the remnant of the 144,000. any comments on this?.

After taking a bunch of evil psychology classes, I can call comments like those all kinds of names. Hmmmm....delusions of grandeur being the first that comes to mind.......

?Wicked Spirits?
by Rooster input on the complete suit of armor from god that you may be able to stand firm against the machinations of the devil; 12 because we have a wrestling, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.
13 on this account take up the complete suit of armor from god, that you may be able to resist in the wicked day and, after you have done all things thoroughly, to stand firm.
how do you wrestle with a spirit creature?

I don't know why, but the term "loins girded" always made me feel a little weird.

Do JWs take Genesis literally?
by undercover inas i grew up as a jw it seemed that we accepted genesis was a literal account with the only question being how long a creative day was.
for the longest time, as best as i can recall, a creative day was considered a thousand years long, based on the ole "a thousand years is as a day to jehovah" rule.. somewhere though, it seems that there was some waffling on how long a creative day was.
especially since science was showing that the earth was millions of years old.. since i've faded i wonder, do jws today consider genesis as a literal account of how things were created, even if they can't explain the exact length of a creative day?.

I read an awake about science recently that said that the creation of the universe could have even taken "millions of years". They got beyond thousands but just couldn't bring themselves to say billions. Of course it was loaded with the usual, "some scientist say" and all, you know, the wording that would get you a D or an F on a college paper.

Apostates!
by sinis inthought this was extremely funny and pathetic:.

well technically anyone in a religion other than our own is an apostate.

WTS advocates resisting rape to the point of death?
by M.J. inover the years the wts has vacillated on its stance regarding the distinction between rape and mutual consent to fornication.. in years past, the wts has stated that "the primary distinction between rape and consent was whether a woman screamed for help.
" (awake!, 4/22/73, p. 17).. the wts's latest published stance, however, states that while the act of screaming establishes innocence of the victim, screaming in itself is not the sole criteria for determining the victim's innocence before god.
if one is incapable of screaming, it does not matter, since jehovah can read a person's motives:.

I remember my mom talking to a couple of teenage girls when I was about 10 or so. The girls said that what usually worked was to tell the rapist that they were pregnant. My mom told my step-dad later that she was concerned because if that situation came up, the girls would be committing the sin of lying.

I think that you are all forgetting the important issue here. We should all completely adhere to and obey everything that a bunch of guys wrote 3000 years ago. If it worked for a bunch of guys living in tents in the wilderness, surely it will work for us today.
Blondie, I never thought of that before though of the reasoning for screaming back then was just so that someone(the fathers) elses property is protected, rather than protecting the girl from being raped.
So what if a young boy was raped?

And whatever you do, DO NOT use them to embarrass the WTBTS by putting up old quotes on the internet.
