if the society was right and armageddon came a knocking would you want to live in a society run by the org and bully elders.. would rather die at armageddon.

let's say an aunt or uncle dies.

let's say you barely knew them.. let's say their memorial service was held at the kingdom hall.. let's say if you attend, you have to deal with shunning from family and jws, and you are forced listen to them present their paradise promotional materials, and the dead person's "earthly hope™", and let's face it ... the heeby-jeebies of having to be in a kingdom hall again.. would you put yourself through it?

Thank you to all sharing your experiences and opinions. It is a hard decision to make. I have about decided not to go. I don't see ANYTHING good coming out of it. I just don't understand why I can't shake the guilt over not going! Old JW programming, I guess?

Anyone know the significance of the three days and nights Jesus is dead?

in my studies i’ve come to realize that most dying and rising gods such as inanna, jesus and others all were dead three days and nights.

the moon is dead as far as man not being able to see it in the sky three days and nights but many of these gods are not associated with the moon, osiris maybe being the only exception.

have any of you in your research come up with a plausible idea on why there all dead just threes days and three nights?.

It has to do with Jewish tradition and they were all Jewish. The Zohar teaches that the soul lingers for 3 days before it leaves the body. It is also Jewish tradition that the body be buried as soon as possible, and no more than 3 days after death. Source

I think the real question is: What is the significance of the number three occurring so often in Jewish tradition?

J.W.`s and Paradise and the Reality of it.

when god created adam and eve and put them in the garden of eden it was then up to them to cultivate and take care of it ,god had no further hand in it .the responsibility rested with adam/eve and their offspring.. the same would be true in the paradise to come ,god gets rid of all of us wicked people ,but then it is up to j.w.~s who are left on this earth to restore such a paradise.?

without god`s intervention.. think of it , this system is gone with all its infrastructure.. 8 million + j.w.`s scattered throughout the earth with.

no communication systems operating .

I don't believe there was ever a "Garden of Eden" with an Adam and Eve, and I don't believe there will ever be a utopian paradise where anybody lives forever, JW or not.

The longer I have been away from the JWs, the more I realize how utterly nonsensical either story is.

My Dead Mother Called Me This Morning!

i woke up a little after 5 am this morning and looked at the clock and realized i had more time to sleep so i fell right back asleep.

i had this dream that i was letting my girlfriends dog out of her house and the next scene i was at work and i got a phone call.

the room i was in simply had a table and phone it was very bare.

Some people believe that is how people who have died communicate with those still living. Some people believe that dreams are a way for us to communicate our unconscious thoughts to ourselves.

One of my very best friends was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 3 to 6 months to live. I was sick with the flu at the time, and my doctor advised me to stay away from her until I was completely over it. She passed 9 days after she was diagnosed and I never got to see her before she died. I am one of those persons who never dream or never remember dreams, but the one I had a couple of days after she died was so vivid, I swore it was really happening. We were in the same room in her house that we always sat in, drinking like we always did. We talked for a bit and I apologized to her for not getting to see her before she passed. I gave her the hat I had bought for her in real life, but never got to give her that said FUCK CANCER. This happened over 10 years ago, and I still think about it because it was so vivid. I needed her to say her final goodbyes and have closure and that is exactly what it did for me.

What was the EXACT exJW website you first visited and why EXACTLY did you visit it?

i had two episodes of visiting exjw websites:one time around 2007 when i just googled "jehovah´s witnesses" and dared to look at those sites.

i was scared and i promised myself i would never come back to them.

however, that one didn´t really count.the moment that woke me up was this:i got to know that whitney heichel was a jw and murdered by another jw, because i overheard that conversation in a kingdom hall.i looked up the news and in one of the news comments, there was one where an exjw was complaining that they were hijacking her funeral and they were really trying to downplay the fact that her murderer was a jw... and then it said "visit jwfacts.com"... which i did.and the rest... is history.what exactly got you onto an apostate website when you woke up?
