2 JW just came to my office!!!!

i work in a pretty large office building with several dubs ( i got a few of them jobs, not cause they where dubs but smart people), anyways, it's pretty obvious that i no longer go to meetings since i have a beard right now.

2 sisters came by my office and asked how i was doing and invited me to the memorial and a gathering after at one of their houses.

i thanked them for the invite and told them id pass since i already had plans for saturday.

It is sad when nice people are controlled by this cult. One of the sisters is really nice and smart, I always tried to help her get promoted but she would say “no thanks” cause it would take time away from Jehovah. Here in my office building there are about 20 JW that I know of. Most of them are nice people in general. This one sister in particular is awesome person but is so controlled by the cult. In some ways she is the last person that need to know this religion is a cult cause she would be crushed since her whole life was wasted.

They where pretty nervous to approach me but I guess they are doing what they feel is right. Funny thing is, since I have a pretty high management position here at my job, all the dubs used to come to me for favors or recommendations but, that’s ended now not cause I will not do it but they no longer approach me cause I don’t go to meetings.

i just joined this forum today after reading the comments on today's watchtower (which i have to attend in about an hour unfortunately).

i was raised in "the truth" and it was only recently that i began to listen to a close friend of mine as he pointed out the secrets and lies that is the watchtower society and governing body.

even though he was informing me for almost a year, he never gave up on me.

i hate the feeling that I'm constantly being controlled...

every freaken thing i do is under a constant microscope... i feel like i'm constantly being judged and questioned and interrogated or "encouraged" to live my entire freaken life in a way that i don't want to.

i can't even have an opinion they don't like.

i feel like i'm suffocating and can't breath sometimes... why the hell can't i just simply live a peaceful life???

How many of the 144K anointed were in your congregation

growing up in the spanish congregation in chicago - i knew 4-5 of this supposed anointed.

all of them no longer are jw, 2-3 of them started their own religionthe other 2 was a mother and son.

they never went house to house, never raised their hands in meetings, never went to the book study we held is our own private homes.

There was one Sister in my old hall who claimed to be of the annointed. Funny thing about her, her husband molested a couple of kids in the hall and none of her children talked to her.

Reasons You Hated Being A Jehovah's Witness

my biggest reason: the religion is stupid.

I hated having to cut off my "wordly family". I lost so much time out on Service, Meetings, and all the older general BS. I could have spend that time with my family instead.

Also, i hated how "fake" the people were.

Lastly, the guilt they place on people for not going to meetings or service. If i missed a meeting my phone would be ringing asking why i was not at meeting. I erally hated that.

When i beleieved it was the truth, i would pray for my "wordly family" to accept the truth. Sounds really dumb now to me but back then i really beleievd it.

Some Things About JWs Just Aren't Right!..... Huh???

just because someone's a witness, it doesn't mean they're horrible people.

but the religion is very strange.

when you think about it, a witness can't go to a work christmas party by themselves but if an unbelieving mate wanted his jw wife to accompany him, this is her personal business.

They give you hungs and kisses when you first come to meetings but your lazy and a bad person if you stop going to meetings!

according to a questions from readers in the 11/1/1999 wt, voting in political elections is technically a matter of conscience.

of course, the article lays out numerous reasons why "mature christians" would choose not to vote.

nonetheless, the article concludes that it is up to an individual's conscience.
