My so-called life

hello everyone..i just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my experiences.. i'm 23, have been raised in the truth all my life.

when i was 18, i made a foolish decision to get married, something i knew deep down i wasn't ready for, still being very much in the 'bloom of youth'.

i reluctantly saw my future as being one of jehovahs witnesses and with all my adolescent drives, i moved away from home to marry a man with about the same maturity as me.

what would it take for them to shatter your faith?

2006 Yeartext: Obey!

the examining the scriptures daily 2006 has been released.

the jw rites of surprise and expectation over the new year's text are now at a fever pitch.

it seems that the theme "godly obedience" was such a hit at the 2005 district conventions, that the governing body has served up an extra helping.

i am looking for help regarding some unsolved prophecies, regarding the king of the north and the eviction from heaven of satan, the woman, and three and a half years, or 42 months, or a time times and half a time.

i have tried various forums over the past 4 years but only seem to get ridiculed or deleted.

for those of you who will be disgusted that i even attended the meeting, let alone allow my son to give his first public talk tonight, please, spare me the shouting messages.

i take full responsibility for what i experienced this evening.

yet, i feel the need to share this experience that has me enraged.

I'm just numb! :-( I need to vent!

i have just witnessed for myself one of the most hypocritical scenes ever before in my life!

my sister's ex husband, ( father to 3 boys, 12, 15, 20 years) commited suicide a few days ago.

he has been a jehova's witness all of his life and and also suffered from bi polar disorder for most of it also, particularly bad in the past 3 years.

Isolated & disconnected once outside

is this a common issue for exjws?

or do you find it easy to just get on with it?

having lost all the jw friends, you find that you can't bring yourself to let others get too close, even pushing them away (old habbit dying hard).

I was lucky in that when I left I still had a couple of friends who I used to associate with pre - jw who hadn't completely abandoned me, but it was very hard at first allowing new acquaintences to get close to me. I have been gone almost 6 years now, and have made a couple of close friends in that time.
