Hi.
I remember when you were Sankes.
"mental wondering in the wilderness"... uh oh.... it's a long post from snakes.... lol.
yep... i think that is the best way to describe where i am at in life right now.
if you have read my past posts (mostly in the private section) you know some of my history as a life-long (now former) witness.. i have been away from the jw religion, for all intents and purposes, since dec. 06, though it was not until sept 07 that i stopped attending meetings.
Hi.
I remember when you were Sankes.

In June, the High Court ruled that the Jehovah's Witnesses organisation was liable for sexual abuse committed by one of its members.
The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain - to give the group its official name - had failed to take adequate safeguarding steps when senior members of the organisation were aware that a fellow Witness was a known paedophile.
It was the first civil case in the UK of historical sexual abuse brought against the Christian-based religious movement.
The BBC's Religious Affairs Correspondent, Caroline Wyatt, explores the implications of the Court's decision and investigates the child safeguarding policies of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
The Report hears from former Witnesses who have suffered abuse and who claim that rather than protecting children, the Society provides a 'paedophile's paradise' that encourages allegations of abuse to be dealt with in-house, rather than by the police.
The programme investigates how the group's Elders are instructed to act when they receive an allegation of sexual abuse, and asks whether the Jehovah's Witnesses have a systematic problem in the way it deals with such complaints.

i don't really know how to describe the feeling but i'll give examples, but the new layout to me makes it feel tiring being on for too long.
1. there is the top menu, then a big add between that and the next part, a big ad between the bottom and where you reply, then on the right column you either have 2 ads on top or some type of summary, then ad, then either related posts or other areas.
there are no borders, the adds have the same color and text type but larger font, and it all seems chaotically merged into one thing where you need to constantly sort out what you are viewing.
Could the avatars be gotten rid of on the 'updated' topic pages ?
Could the 5 10 20 be moved to the top of the page instead of scrolling to the bottom to change from 10 to 20?
(Do people view only 5 topics per page?)
Could the last three posters per topic be removed along with the avatars?
Could the number of replies be made in plain black text rather than harder to see pastel colours?
Thanks
i leave you people alone for one holiday, and you go and change the whole dern place around.
i can't find anything, don't recognize anything, i'm lost... wait, i sound like my grandfather... .
why, would you look what you've done to the place.
''I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates the change. For the record, I'm under 50. What I miss the most is seeing so many thread titles at once. Now I see two or three and have to scroll down to see maybe two more. Not a fan''
I have similar sentiments but I am also thankful for the work that Simon has put into the site and maybe I'll end up liking it.
At the moment I visit much less often as I used to like the 'active' page having, what was it, about twenty thread titles with just the titles and not the post included.
Thanks anyway.
so most would now know of the vile act in sydney last week where a man held hostage over 17 people in the lindt cafe in the middle of sydney.. two people were murdered...a beautiful, educated lawyer, loving mother of three, and a brave, loving young man working as the cafe manager.. this senseless and cruel act has touched everyone deeply, especially in the communities of sydney.
the outpouring of grief and support for the victims and their families has been immense.. i was therefore outraged to have the following comment made by a witness in conversation at the kingdom hall:.
"well, we dont need to be sad, because at least now they (the two victims) will get a ressurection.
''They are deluded, non-reasoning humans''
Speaking as an ex JW I would add that ''we'' were deluded non reasoning humans too just like they are still.

''it would be a great idea
to just shoot people instead of preaching to them,
because then they will get reserrected. Whereas
those who get preached to ...and reject message,
will die forever''
I worked that out when I was 14 years old. I remember thinking that my fellow Witnesses who couldn't see that that was the logical follow through of the belief system were in a state of stupid denial.
What a way for me to grow up in my formative years believing that every person killed had a ticket to Paradise. Remind you of anything?
after some considerable thought i have decided that i will no longer post on this forum because i want to return to jehovah.
thank you for all the kindness and many interesting discussions over the years.
i wish you all well in the future and the decisions you make.
Just thinking of SBF
part 1. .
she was suspecting me that i'm no longer interested in the borg, and she was trying to get a confession.
this is how our conversation went out.
''A brother and a professor in biology in a university''
Hi, Is that two separate people or one? There is a Witness that I knew that was a professor in biology at St Georges University Grenada.
if you don't know, km's are now online too.
under the heading, "i cannot find him at home again!
" it mentions how a text message or email is to be counted as a return visit.
”A return visit may be counted when we visit the person or witness to him by means of a letter, an e-mail, a text, a note left in his door, or a telephone call.'' Kingdom Ministry November 2014
