Yeah there is nothing there.
Let me guess what it would say.......
Create your own life! Invent yourself! Choose your future!
The past is gone! Just chemical memories in your brain! If you cannot forget the past, then change how you view the past.
Who says you cannot write?
Who says you are bad at business?
You say who you are and what you are!!!!
Do not say who you wish you were, say now WHO YOU ARE!!!
(This healthy self talk lasts about an hour and a half with me now.)
Rats, sure could have used a dose!

Gold rush era shipwreck found beneath the streets of San Francisco!

So cool! I read about these ships that came around the Cape to deliver to San Francisco only to have the crew members jump ship to begin digging for gold! So many ships lost their crews to the gold rush they were left in port and decayed and houses were built from their wood and even towns were built over them. Many waterfront buildings have in their basements remnants of abandoned 1849 ships.

Wow! What powerful forces were at work when I was a youngster I was not aware of.
I ran into a Watchtower chick by accident at high school. I was new to the school and was lost as to where my classes were. This friendly girl showed me around and asked me what my religion was........
Years later she confessed to me our meeting was no accident, that she had prayed all summer for two Bible studies so she could pioneer while in her senior year. So the first day of school bible studies were on her mind. My family was going through a divorce and my personal life looked dim. I had no friends in the new school and so was grateful for this girl's attention and friendship. We spent every minute together not in class. She was wonderful I thought. Little did I know she was counting every minute with me.
At a time in my life when I should have been getting counseling to begin a career I was getting propaganda to abhor the world and shun higher education and retreat into the Watchtower Society.
This girl got straight A's, was a lovely singer and writer and had a very nice intact family.
So what she said carried alot of weight with me. She turned down a huge scholarship in order to pioneer and this impressed me too.
After she got me to agree to pioneer with her after I got baptised (the baptism resulted in my being kicked out of my house at 18) she promptly had a nervous breakdown and shriveled up as a publisher.
She even married without inviting me and moved away. I only saw her at Conventions and our relationship, which I thought was so solid when we were 18, was now very casual and almost non-existant. I am still a little baffled about it all.
But if she had any doubts about the recruiting she did as a teen, she never shared it with her victims,
me and others she led about in the early 70s. She had her own car group of unbaptized ones she could practically get missionary hours off of. She was very charming and smart and persuasive and led me into a cult group I spent the next 35 years as lonely as can be. My father died with me never celebrating one of his birthdays or sending him a Christmas card or gift as an adult. My brother married and had 3 kids without me once visiting or sending congratulatory gifts......my mother died when I was 19 and so self righteous I hated her for her drinking and smoking.
Now I am kicked out by this stupid misleading organization. All my family and friends I worked hard to nurture in the org have been ripped from me!
"Old truth indeed" Thats how they rationalize every inaccurate prophesy they have made. -

This is the pain. Relatives in the truth we care so much about. We are loathed to hurt by our words so we keep alot in. How can we speak against the paradise hope or ressurrection hope to grandma who looks forward to seeing grandpa again?
Or if we have a sick relative who awaits a healing in the new system of things, how can we take that hope away from them?
I cant.
I have kept my mouth shut since my dfing. Only here with you do I open up. -

I imagine they are calling upon the local congregations to mobilize relief for the congregations in New Orleans, Biloxi and Mississippi.
After I split from my ex a terrible wind storm blew over his house taking 1/2 of his roof off. Rain poured in and ruined alot of stuff.
The congregation came together and re-roofed his house for free and re-carpeted and put in new linoleum.
They have taken very good care of their brother.
For this I am grateful to them. -

Watchtower relief effort...
by undercover ini googled some different religion home pages this morning to see how some religions/churches were responding to the disaster on the gulf coast.. all the ones that i checked, catholic, baptist, lutheran, presbyterian all made mention of the disaster and had already started some relief efforts.
the cathoic church has its own relief website, catholicrelief.org where various relief efforts around the world are listed.
(one interesting one is that the catholic church is teaming with the mormons to bring food to niger) .

They are probably calling on the local brothers in nearby towns and states to mobilize help to the Witnesses in New Orleans and Biloxi and Mississippi. In 1989 in California we had an earthquake which destoyed the downtown areas of nearby cities and knocked a couple of witness homes off their foundations. The local witnesses gathered donations for the needy witnesses. Everything was free to those who were affected. Affected witnesses doubled up in homes while repairs were ordered by the brothers for any who needed it. In our local paper an article appeared praising the witnesses for rebuilding the home of a witness soon after the earthquake while her neighbors homes sat in ruins waiting for the insurance claim to settle. The article was entitled "The House That Jehovah Built"
The excess donation material was then donated to the Good Will or some other charity.
The witnesses take care of their own first. But I've heard many stories of charity to outsiders as well, but admittedly not at all on the scale of other churches or charities. -

just begged for my job back

JW83, you are going through a tough time. Now whether you work or not at your old job depends upon your boss' mercy. But what are you going back to?? Something you said you disliked I think I remember.
I hated my old job so much. I liked the customers and I liked the work, but the bosses were awful women. And the girls they surrounded themselves with were mean. The whole bunch should have worked in a correctional facility instead of a dept. store. My husband saw how unhappy I was and how many weekends and nights they were adding to my schedule on top of the mistreatment. He let me quit to pursue something else.
That was 6 months ago.
Getting away from that oppressive work situation was a great relief. I have been able to concentrate on the home and on him and some hobbies. I actively look for suitable work during the week. I even earned a couple of paychecks doing some work for a neighbor and helping my husband on his job for a day when his partner was sick.
My point is this: Sometimes that second paycheck isnt worth it if it causes grief of some kind in the household. Today everyday the house is clean and dinner is waiting for my husband. All his shirts are clean and hung. And he loves this! I work in my garden and play with my animals. I get out my cello and practice. I visit the library to increase my knowledge. It was during this sabbatical from work that I found this website---by chance!
At first it was something I apologized for----not working. But now as I see us a more happy family I stopped apologizing. Just this morning I emailed back a prospective employer. They want me to come into town and fill out an application. I will. But if the job tips the balance again away from happy family life I will quit it again in favor of peace of mind over a fuller wallet.
Just my peaceful thoughts. -

Cool, DFing is hard on everybody. Im sure she has dreams too of you. It is a way for the mind to work everything out when in reality things are at an impasse. Let her call you and talk with you. It will either do something or nothing, but it will allow the two of you to express your love for each other and you can express your love for your grandmother at least to your mom and she can relay info about family members to you. My ex did that for me for 3 years until I remarried. He even sent me e-cards and pictures of nieces and nephews and news of the congregation members. I appreciated it at the time, but always afterwards there was a day or two of depression following. I have not heard from him since May now and my dreams/nightmares have stopped and my thoughts turn less and less to the past and instead pursue the future.
Everyone moves on. They must.
Best wishes,

You can make a difference in a little chicken's life!
by anewme indid you know that 99% of the egg farms throughout the world apply the same barbaric methods to produce the eggs we consume?
these methods were printed in detail in our local newspaper this sunday and they are shocking!!!
first off: all the baby chicks are separated by sex.

I dont find insensitivity to a creature's suffering amusing.
Nor do I find men and women who do, very likeable.
I actually have had a few people tell me they have already purchased cage free eggs since the posting of this info.
This pleases me. -

Governor Kathleen Blanco said: "We need to pray, of course, very strong...

yeah because the lord won't help people unless a bunch of other people beg him to.
why not sacrifice a goat while you're at it just to be safe.

Politicians are very careful what they say. Calling for prayer right now while the fundamentalists are such a powerful voting force is very smart. That is one thing the WBTS opened my eyes to, was the union of churches and government and what a rotten corrupt powerful force it can become. If I've learned anything from being a witness and being Dfd it is to stay away from religion and never allow it to take over politics. Back to the hurricane disaster: I feel for everyone going through that misery.
