i put together a 200 page exposition on how the governing body are false witnesses using only watchtower literature (scans and the cd) and showing how they claim to be the salvation and that people shouldn't think for themselves, showed it to my wife, and she simply told me that she knew all those things and that if she could she would divorce me.

it's all in the bible.. the weird thing is though, the next morning, she pretended like things are fine.

What gets you "unsaved"?

assuming a belief in a creator and that s/he has made provison for an afterlife, what does everyone think would prevent you, doctrinally, from being "saved"?

i'm not talking about moral charactor, but specific religious beliefs like the trinity, using gods "name", baptism, reincarnation, accepting all biblical accounts as factual etc.

include beliefs of all faiths; buddists, muslem, new age - all of 'em.. later,.

premise: many who have read the bible over the centuries have accepted it as authoritatively from god, and have glossed over some glaring inconsistencies, contradictions, and shear nonsense.

some cultish groups have attempted to mimick the myths and twisted beliefs they have derived from the bible.

jehovah's witnesses are no exception to this.. this raises the questions: if the bible (as we know it) is from god, having his stamp of authorship and approval, then can we ever at some point raise serious questions about it?

Rather, the issue is why God himself ordered the genocidal extermination of an entire city, men, women, children, even babies. Why, in the face of his own command to Israel not to murder - part of his perfect Law through Moses - wold God then cause Israel to murder an entire city?

Bottom line Amazing, He didn't. The Bible is mixed with factual and unfactual history, poetry and LOTS of metaphor.Inspiration comes, not from taking it all literally, but asking to understand how a particular verse or chapter refers to your life personally. Some of it may never apply to you. There are some that apply to everyone. Depends on your circumstances. The Bible is a personal document
The Bible isn't the only literature I've found God given inspiration from. That's what works for me.

I believe the Creator has a purpose that we are not yet in a position to comprehend; kinda like an unborn child trying to understand what's happening as he is being born. This life is short, and forever is a long time.
On the other hand, would you really God to control every aspect of your life, with no danger or challenges? Would you want to ride a roller coaster w/o being scared? Think about it.

i would like to know why you still beleive in god and what, based upon the bible, leads you to believe in god.. i likethe scripture that states the earth was a circle and hung upon nothing.

i also find that there is evidence the flood existed.

anybody know the stats of the "supposed" ark on mr. ararat?.
