Not Getting Over It! Ex-JWs Face Residual Psychological, Physical Damage

this is not an essay or "my story".

these are just a few personal observations from someone who lived, breathed and.

slept the jw religion for over 50 years.

One of the major problem we have in getting over it, can you think of one thing that was positive about

that organization. Some one stated, it,s the same as the concentration camps in Germany. Nothing positive

you can learn , only do not let it happen again and try too help others from having the same fate.

Beside becoming A great salesman, I can not think of one thing..I think about my great ancestors

when they were freed from slavery, what the hell are we going to do since we are free. Become the president.

what was the worst advice given to you while you were a JW ?

mine's was, if your job interfere with the meetings you have to decide who you will choose,.

serving jehovah or serving man, if anyone knew my needs it most definitely was jehovah.

and he knew i needed my job to eat.

Do not take your Brother to court. I sold my business to A brother. Others (not JW) had offer to buy my

business, money in hand. He heard from others in the cong. that I was selling my business, he came to

me and beg me to sale him my business. He had no money to invest, so I work out A deal with him.

You can start paying me after three months.

Did not receive one dime.Went to the Brothers and they told me, you can not take your brother too court.

Then the brother told the friends in his cong. that I should have gave him the business for free, because I did not need the money.

i don't know as i have covered this one before or not, but can't we say that jesus has been invisibly present ever since his ascension in the first century?

Since he has conquered the world in 1914 or 2000 yrs. ago why has he continue to let Satan deceive?

For what purpose. My understanding of Satan was , he Is the ruler of this world but the bible stated

he is the great deceiver of the world a big difference. And who was Christ speaking too at Matt;28;20

(I will be with you to the end of ages), the Jews..Matt. 15;24 Jesus said He was sent ONLY to lost sheep

of the house of Israel (jews). Why Jesus didn,t say he will be with all of mankind until the end of days , he must had known

that his people would reject him one day..

Circuit Overseers, their roles, and their spouses

my wife and i took a trip yesterday to deliver her camera to her mom so she may take it with her as she goes to kentucky where the need is greattm.

her mom is currently still in virginia staying with some brothers there while she gets schooled in giving talks (at least i think that is what she is doing).

i met the co's wife at the petersburg kh and after we dropped the camera off, my wife and i went to have dinner before returning home.. i ask about circuit overseers and their role because i was intrigued to learn that the kh we went to had an apartment for the co.. apparently, co's have no job of their own outside the watchtower activities and while my wife insisted that they did not 'take a vow of poverty' like the catholic clergy do, they technically do.

In regards to dietary requirements, When I served where the need is great, once or twice a month

I would travel to a cong. to give a talk.. A family was assign to feed my family. Don,t get me wrong

and I appreciated the jester, but everyone are not good cooks. Since I had to travel great distant to

give a talk there were times( on my way home) when it was necessary to make bath room stops.

That was only A few times A month. So with the CO, they eat in someone home on the average of

five days A week.. Imaging if sister spicy(love spicy food) fix A large pot of spicy chili and it,s A meeting

nite. You young people will find out as you get older there are foods you can not eat unless you are

prepare to stay home for the evening..SO i CAN SEE with A middle age CO couple they would need to

watch their diet..

i am going to put together a page of short experiences of how shunning has affected exjws.

you do not have to be disfellowshipped, even if you were shunned after being marked or after fading.

all comments are welcome, such as who shunned you, how long since family have spoken to you, what your situation is, why you are being shunned and how it has made you feel.

My JW daughter ask me to attend her delayed wedding reception. Over 10 years since I was df.

I told my daughter this was not a good idea for me to attend, this should be a happy occasion for you

and your JW husband. They both beg me to come since they were showing slides of my family when I was

A JW. I agreed to come after the meal had been serve,(not eating with df person). Well, other family members

(none JW) decided to attend when they found out I was going..They had seen the shunning done by my

JW other family members. Well when I arrive all was seated, the food had not been served..My new wife

and I sat with the family members(none JW). There was seven at our table. Over 200 JW, many old

friends. My daughter whisper in my ear, dad you must leave we can not serve the food with you here.

The none JW family saw what was taking place and became so upset that we all walk out.. My poor

daughter was so upset, her mother ,my ex-wife told the Elders I should leave.

I hope it,s a myth. Curious why this sick story was included in the Bible. What moral or spirtual value

can one take from the story. Thanks

Years ago A elderly gentleman (75) who work as a janitor on my job, would visit me each nite at my

work station (a prototype machinist). He would go on how I and other young men today are not real

men. We are all hen peck(whatever that means).At the time I was out of the borg. but still married to my

JW wife..So I stiill beleive some of the BS..He would ask me , how much money do you have in your pocket?

Why I ask. I bet you your wife gave you your allowance for the week true, yes that is true.. It did not

matter that she manage the money well. I was terrible at manageing money..So I decided to handle the

money, this led to our divorce...Some have stated, that is not practical today (headship).Like my friend at work

he came from A generation where women did not work, the husband work the wife stayed home, the same

in the Bible..I have seen this at the meetings, Brother and sister perfect seems to be the perfect couple, but

at home it,s A different story. The women are head of the house in many cases. Some women did not go for that

submissive BS..And this led to many divorces..
