  What do you think of Joyce Meyer?

  i know there are a lot of atheists here, but for those who still believe in god- what do you think of joyce meyer?

  from the few times i've seen her i enjoy her sense of humor while preaching.

  she seems very down to earth and easy to relate to..

  Mom is gone

  i'm not much of a poster here, but the passing of my mom on friday is as good a reason as any.. she was in deep, no doubt will be refered to as "faithful to the end" by those who eulogize her.

  this new chapter in my life of course has me is a reflecive mood.

  i'm sure when she was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago that her hope was that the "new system" would come before she succumbed.

  3 dogs. J.D., my dog, she's a jack russell. Nitro, was my Dad's dog. He is a daschund, and always looking for a badger, we have everything but those here. He caught a Robin today. How does dog catch a bird??? Dipstick is the outside dog. She's a golden retriever.

  i have to go for a ct scan - i saw the machine - it looks scary!!!.

  how long does the scan last?

  do you just lie still while they take pics?.

  Last time I had one the doctor prescribed valium. It helped me with anxiety of being in a confined space.

  Saw an Elder @ the Van Halen concert last night!

  sunday, the giant center hershey pa. .

  before the show, i of course ducked into the mens room so that i wouldnt have to during the show.

  (which was awesome by the way) anyway, as i am standing in line waiting my turn, whom do i see turn to leave?

  Funny side note here. A CO that was assigned to our area twice was a former high school English teacher. Eddie Van Halen was one of his students. He told Eddie he would never amount to anything. LOL.

  High Maintenance Kids-anyone else have them?

  i guess i'm just looking around for other parents experiencing similar situations as i am -while being df'd and having little family support!.

  my oldest (9 yr old) son is asperger's (highly functioning autistic) and ocd.

  i worked really hard with him through behavioral therapy and medication and he is doing so well.

  I am a single mother to a 2 and a half year old boy. I am on a waiting list right now to have him tested for autism. He's a very normal 2 and a half year old except that he doesn't talk. He says about 10 words. When he was 11 months old he knew about 30 words, and had just started talking in sentences. He had his MMR vaccinations and then all this started. His peditricians think I am crazy, or overprotective, I think. The last time we went to his doctor she said basically that this is a phase that he will grow out of. So, I'm going to other doctors because he's never actually been tested for autism. We've done physical therapy and speech therapy.

  I get very frustrated at times because of the communication difficulties. He does baby talk and then he gets frustrated and whiny if I don't know what it is he wants. He's learned some sign language and that helps but not much. I had to stop speech therapy with him because of problems with my health insurance. My company changed insurance companies and they won't pay for speech therapy because they say it was a pre-existing condition. Hello! Are babies all born talking except for mine??

  Anyway. I know how difficult it is with just one child and how much harder it must be for you.

  My very first concert was Cinderella and Bon Jovi. I was 13. My sister took me and that was the night I found out that she smoked ciggarettes. Gasp!

  JW TERMS I CAN'T STAND

  there are a few terms i cannot stand that jw's use and now i have to consciously convince myself not to use:.

  1. the truth - um nothing could be further from being accurate.

  2. worldly - as if they are 'other worldly' or 'supreme beings'.

  "Gathering" instead of "party". Why the hell couldn't we have PARTIES like everybody else? And if we couldn't, why was it ok to have them anyway as long as we called them "gatherings"?

  Here, we had get-togethers. I really hate that term.
