Qualities to look for in a marriage mate? Let's get real...
by findingme indoodle-v's thread regarding our own ypa questions got me thinking about this.
recall when we were past the "bloom of youth", and we could start the dating process (with only the possibility of marriage in mind, of course).
i was reminded again and again to look for that brother who possessed "spiritual qualities", ie, who could take the lead, had the goal of becoming a pioneer, or already was a pioneeer, etc.

I finally did it !!
by Junction-Guy infor most of my adult life i have always been reluctant to mention that i was raised a jw, just out of pure embarassment, it has always been a source of shame for me.
last night i was finally able to tell people that i work with that my family are jw's.
the whole thing that started the conversation was another officer talking about an inmate in the hospital having a blood transfusion, that was my way in to the conversation.

Dropping from exhaustion
by Insomniac ini'm so tired.
i graduate in one week; my professor keeps giving me assignments, telling me that each one is the honest-to god last one ever.
and, while in the past he's always given me at least one week to finish a paper, now he gives me 2-3 days.

You know it's ruddy worth it and good on you for trying so hard. You know what it's like, sport is the same or any kind of strenuous activity, just when you think about giving up, the brain gives you more adranaline to pip the contestants to the post. So many are like you right now, the same in our town, with all the art and media and broadcasting students etc, all looking bedraggled and quite worn out, but just a week or two more and it'll all be worth it. You can throw your hats in the air, let out a shout of exuberance, knowing that you have achieved the first leg of your goal, drink margaritas galore and relax in style for the rest of the summer. Keep at it Insomniac, hoping and wishing you every success through those arduous last moments of term time. Good luck and all kindest regards.

do you ever write posts but not post them?
by dh ini find that i do it a lot, often to do with politcal threads, i read some of the stuff people write and i want to rip into it so badly, of course because i know i am right all of the time and everyone else just thinks they are, so i write a post, then i read it and don't bother to post it... i figure, why destroy everyone elses illusions that they are right?
that just wouldn't be nice.. sometimes i spend a while writing a long post, then i just hit ctrl+a followed by space bar, and back in my browser... does anyone else do this or is it just me?
i am particularly interested to hear from other people who like myself are right all of the time but would feel guilty about shattering everyone else's illusions.

supposing you wanted to start your own community project, what would you do
by Celtic injust supposing you wanted to start your own community project or to do something, anything for other people, and supposing you had a few hours spare each week and some funding to get a project off the ground, what would you ideally like to do?
would it be that you might like to start an ex witness healing group or similar, or perhaps some theatre production, screen writing etc, or perhaps a recycling project or perhaps helping out elderly individuals in your home area?.
if you could use your imagination, what would you like to do?
