Blood Issue took my mom last night
by rwagoner inafter years of fighting a physical disability that ended in kidney failure and several bouts of respiratory/cardiac arrestmy mom landed in the hospital last week.
the doc's said she needed heart surgery and kidney transplants but before they could operate they need to get her blood count back up.
it had fallen well below what her body could naturally restore on its own she she needed transfusions.

I went to the Catholic Church and...
by Awakened at Gilead inwell i hope none of you think i went over to the dark side, lol!.
we (gf and i) went to see a presentation of handel's messiah.
i was impressed with the beautiful choir voices and the string quintet and other players.

Glad you enjoyed it, Awakened...
I agree with the above posts, I never felt "Spiritually Refreshed" or any spiritual connection at the Hall either. I too, would leave not remembering
half of the talks or sometimes, even who the speaker was.
I have been to a couple Churches since my fade, either for a wedding or a service of some sort, and just "Walking In" had a different feel to it.
It was as if there was a, Spiritual Air about the place, of coarse... I would argue in my mind that maybe it was a demon causing the feeling... (Thanks WTS).
Seriously tho... there is a difference, even the music would reach places in my mind and heart that the KH never got close to.

Volunteering at Assemblies.
by LouBelle income on i know many of you did.. i used to volunteer because 1. my mum forced me as a kid, then 2. i wisend up to the fact i'd miss quite a bit of the session if i volunteered.. many hours were spent cleaning stadiums, the loos (vomit), picking up litter.
in the days when they served meals at the assemblies we peeled potatoes, chopped onions, cooked, served the food / cooldrinks.
took the tickets.

Me too...
I worked all Assemblies and Conventions, doing anything and everything
they would allow me to do. I loved it, we would get so tired we couldn't
move, but it was a "Good Tired".
That's the only thing I miss about those days.

Goodbye to JWD ... hello to JWN !
by Simon inas i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/.
it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).
