p 114 has a nice woodcut/etching of Jesus upon the Cross

p234 It was in the year 1874, the date of our Lord's second presence.....

p235 talks about all the wonderful new inventions of the time .."come to light since 1874, as further evidence of the Lord's presence since that date as follows: adding machines, aeroplanes, aluminum (didn't the wt go on to say aluminum was an invention of the devil at one point?) antiseptic surgery, artificial dyes, automatic couplers, automobiles, barbed wire, bicycles, , etc...etc....

This book is filled with crazy stuff.

Me thinks he dost protest too much!

He certainly seems to be fascinated and obsessed by young men in tight fitting clothing. He wouldn't be the first gb member in the closet.

let's call the fader/df'd person joe and the dead friend bob.

There was a post recently where the person was df'd (or da'd or fader?) and had a friend who had already died. Let's call the fader/df'd person Joe and the dead friend Bob. Anyway, the conversation was that Joe should come back to the org because in the new system after the Big A Bob would wonder what happened to Joe and would miss him.

My question is this, sometimes I see that a df'd person must come back so they can be in the new system with loved ones and other times I see posts where the arrogant zealous jw says things like, "I'm glad I won't remember my non jw or apostate family members in the new system".

So which is it? those that make it into the new system do remember previous life with non jw & apostate members or jah somehow makes them forget these people?

i was born january 15, 1947in mt.

carmel hospital, detroit, michigan.. within six months of my birth, my mother would bundle her baby boy into a blanket and board an american airlines propeller-driven plane--in effect, leaving my father behind--to return to her hometown, ft. worth, texas.. my dad had an excellent job working for cadillac as an inspector.

it was a union job.

Remember some old quote from a court case years ago where a jw said if the wt said this book was green (or was it black?) he would believe it? That is how I see jw's, no matter what happens there will always be diehards trying to justify any and all changes. Sadly my jw is one of them I think.

I'm too lazy at the moment to look up what exactly I am referencing but I know some of you know what I am talking about.

I think many jw's have so much invested in their 'faith' that giving it up would be admitting they were wrong and they just can't bring themselves to admit they were hoodwinked. Besides, it's the best way to live even if they are wrong.......blah.
