Doubtfully Yours,
What is the book they are currently studying?
My vote is for their Bible because it is so perverted, in my opinion.
Millions Now book for obvious reasons.
Harp of God is pretty amusing too!
so i was wondering what book is the nuttiest they ever printed?
i know there are several in contention for first place but which is your vote for no 1?
also if you don't mind post a bit of what is in the book you pick to show why you picked it.

you could fertilize your garden with this shite.... https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/respond-to-accusations/.
Tell us a little of what is on their faq page please, I have a strict policy not to go on their website and give them anymore algorithm clicks than they already brag about (or however Google ranks things these days). It's my middle finger to them so to speak, yeah, I know, it makes no difference at all in the big scheme of things but it helps me sleep better knowing I did not add to their delusional thoughts of grandeur.
short info on interesting changes to the major conventions this year: there will be a new security concept that will be implemented at all regional conventions in 2017.. similar to other major events (e.g.
festivals, concerts), there will be admittance controls in stadiums.. - at each entrance, there will be a massive presence of attendants that look at each visitor.. - there will be pocket checks at the entrance.. - suspicious persons are no longer left on the convention grounds.. - suppliers to the stadium will be intensively inspected by attendants.. - there will be a special sign for attendants that must enter the stadium before 7.30 am.
all others (even all attendants) can only enter after 7.30 am..
"If you don't wear a convention badge, you're going to be questioned before they let you in"-
I thought they wanted the public to come to these things? If they treat people like that because they don't have a 'badge' it won't seem very friendly will it? what? no love bombing at conventions?
oh so it's jesus fault the spiritual food hasn't been perfect!
we your governing body are just responsible for serving it!
think about this people, they are saying it was jesus who told us the end was going to come in 1975. then before the 1914 generation passed away no later than the 1990's.
Is this really from a wt? ""The teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses are neither correct nor from God." or is it just the gist of it? thank you
i`m showing my ignorance here , not being an active member of any church before joining jw`s as a 19 yr old ,whenever i was ever confronted with the question of "grace" i was always at a loss to give an effective answer from a jw point of view.. was it just me ?
or did anybody else have a similar experience ?.
(ps , i dont think i ever heard the expression " grace" in a religious sense in all my 33 years in the borg.studying the wt.).
Onthewayout, I will have to remember that perfect definition of the jw's view! It still makes no sense but it is difficult to explain to a Christian about the jw belief.
I agree the jw's have no concept of Grace whatsoever. I believe they must at some point do some real soul or bible searching to fully comprehend it and even then they have been so browbeaten they probably will always harbor the feeling that they do not deserve God's Grace. (guess they can't really do soul searching seeing as they don't have one of those either)
this is obviously a question for the older generation.
i'm really curious what it was like to be a witness in the 60's and 70's?.
was the society as strict as it is today?.
Tell a jw who joined later about these stories and they will not believe it! Even if they ask the older ones in the cong about these sorts of stories the older ones deny or have forgotten. My jw does not believe ANY negative stories about being a jw. He believes these stories are the anomalies and "merely overzealous individual nut job parents like you could have in any religion".
Or, ask an older jw about such things and they go off on a tangent about how they personally knew Franz or Knorr and fondly remember being a child when they came to visit............. weird, they think namedropping men like this is a good thing? anyway that was a rare experience I had with an elder once. One of my very rare interactions years ago. Ugh, I shudder to even think of that day. The only humorous thing about that day was when I spread out all my apostate books & stuff on the kh library table and it wouldn't all fit!
one of the "elephants in the room" which j.w.
's will not and cannot question or discuss, is the org's dogma that a person's own death wipes out their sins!..
when active, i asked two c.o.
Yes, I think they are taught that in the bs class! Perhaps an ex jw can enlighten us on this. Oh, never mind, as a regular poster likes to say, let's review, it's a cult.

Years ago I asked my jw about this very thing! he was flummoxed by the question. I asked, "if you believe that YOUR death absolves you of sin then why do you need Jesus at all? why did He need to die upon the cross?" (nevermind the cross/stake issue here for the moment) His answer was full of umm's and mumbling and then he came up with, "Jesus is our King!" as if that answered the question. Then naturally he attempted to change the subject to, "it wasn't a cross blah, blah, blah....." and never got around to actually answering the original question. sigh.
i recently came across a female youtuber called "bridget azaz".
she has made a number of youtubes recording discussions that she has had with a number of jws.
she does an excellant job and i thought i would make mention of her here.there appears to be another youtube site that either she or someone else has created with a couple of her interviews which have been touched up from the originals on her 'bridget azaz' site.this is one of them and i think you will enjoy it.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkescwpafmu&feature=em-subs_digest.
She did an awesome job!
I wish my jw would knock on her door.
