  Looking for BOE letter regarding DF'd at memorial

  last year i decided to attend the memorial.

  i came in last minute and ended up sitting at the end of the row.

  when the symbols were passed out they skipped me and gave to the person next to me.

  How do they handle non witnesses? If some interested person actually did come from getting the brochure would they be passed over when the emblems came around? you mean they can't even touch the tray or whatever?

  From a non jw perspective it is weird enough that there is a 'memorial' in which the vast majority of the cong actually reject the emblems and weirder yet that an outsider or df'd person is not even allowed to touch or pass along the rejected body and blood of Christ. weird, weird, weird

  Life in Pakistan

  i live in texas, houston, and pakistan is not a shock to me since i have lived and travelled abroad, but i thought i would share some of the things i have noticed with you.. no one has microwaves.. their toilets are very modern flush toilets-flush with the floor.. the showers well, no stall, no tubs.

  just a big room with a toilet and a sink and a shower faucet.. the electricity goes off at regular intervals during the day.

  would not freak me out so much if we had any windows in this house!

  when bethel serves pancakes, do they give you a choice?

  is it only 1 choice.

  it sure would be a deal breaker for me if i didn't get to choose between bacon, or sausages.

  Sounds rather disgusting to me but to each his own! and no, I don't want to know how hot dogs are made.

  Tips on removing all faults/dented Jello mold

  if you are really talking about a jello mold, I suggest a rubber mallet or jewelers hammer and start on carpeting or something soft, work up to harder surfaces as needed. Like repairing a dent in a car, hammer it out.

  If your post is some analogy to life I suggest you are perfect as you are, no hammer needed, if memory serves you have had quite enough hammering in your life already.

  Why do I bother to wake up in the morning?

  i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.

  i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.

  first offence but the pigs police and the cps have got charges made.

  Apple cide vinegar (the kind with the mother) 2tbl in a full glass of water, do not drink as a shot it will destroy tooth enamel, try twice a day

  Black cohosh

  evening primrose oil as already mentioned

  sage

  B vitamin complex

  meditation

  Dong Quai

  Red clover

  Are my children in danger of being indoctrinated if I let them spend the night with their JW family?

  so... i'm writing because i have mixed feelings.

  keeping my kids safe is my goal... until they are old enough to understand and reason on their own.

  my mother gave me the tapes (that i gave her back in december) of combating mind control by steven hassan, saying that she didn't have a tape player... reminded me of three years ago when i gave her crisis of conscience by ray franz and she said it's to big book to read and she's not a reader.

  It is your job as a parent to protect your kids. That means protecting them from physical harm, emotional, spiritual and mental harm to the best of your ability. If this means the grandparents are never, ever left alone with your precious children then that is what you must do even if it hurts your parents feelings.

  jw's will NOT honor any agreement about not preaching to your kids. They will lie and justify it, see the AID book and look up their definition of the word 'lie'. You know all about theocratic warfare and all their other nonsense.

  Protect your kids.

  In the end you may be protecting your relationship with your own children. If they join the cult due to grandparent influence and one day shun you how will you handle that?

  i had to highlight this part because i was dying laughing on the inside when it was given.. the talk first starts by the brother bringing out how clean gods people were in the past and how he gave specific direction to the israelites for disposing if waste.

  then he said that a sister stepped in gum outside on the pavement so we should not chew gum at the kh.eat mints instead!.

  then he brought out an important point about keeping the bathroom sanitized and he says: "and just recently we found blood in the sink in one of the bathrooms.

  Years ago didn't they have an awake or other publication with an entire article devoted to the importance of washing your hands after using the toilet? I remember it because it was when my jw first joined up and I had found the article and asked if he was frickin' serious about joining a so called religion that had to tell it's members to wash their hands after going to the bathroom?! in a "religious" magazine?! don't most "religious" magazines talk about, oh, I dunno, maybe Jesus? the Bible? or perhaps the 10 commandments?

  "makes them look a bit obsessed in my opinion"- no more obsessed than jw's with their carts or in fs. Things like this are not to change the minds of jw's usually but rather to stop the uninformed from being sucked into the cult. To each their own, sometimes you feel like you must do something and for this couple this is it.
