  for i do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to israel until the fullness of the gentiles has come in.

  - romans 11:25. .

  i wonder how many of you having read the 11 chapter of romans, see that the jews have not been rejected of god forever.. seems to me from the above verse that they were blinded to the truth, and that this blindness is temporary ... until the fullness of the gentiles, the gentiles, of course being those who would make up the church class, the bride of christ, the 144,000.. what say ye?.

  Holy cow Gozz, you gonna make me get serious? Well, let's see how many feathers I can ruffle...My personal opinion is that Judiasm, Christianity and Islam have all spent their perverbial "wad" and none of them are going to see any serious resurgance or reform. All of them are split into splinter groups, arguing with each other while the world passes them by. The Torah, the Bible and the Koran were all in their time rejuvenating and creative. The light is flickering and needs an injection of divinity that IMHO will not happen within. The Jews are still looking for the Messiah, the Christians the "return of Christ" and in spite of the Muslims claiming Muhammed was the "seal of the prophets" most of them are looking for the return of the 12th Imam, the Quiem, and the return of Jesus.

  Personally, I think they are all literalists and materialists and have their fingers thrust into their auditory and visual organs.

  There now you went and goofed up my perfectly good day!

  Living A Lie

  i am sick of living a lie, yet afraid to change it.

  married to a man who refuses to listen, who would rather plug his ears and shout "nooooooo" is taking it's tole.

  i am afraid to speak my mind about my doubt, my thoughts, and what i'm learning, as i'm not ready to cross that point of no return.

  It just hit me Ms. Blue, I've a 22year old daughter that is at university carring 21 credits, works 20 hours a week in an investment brokerage and is on the Dean's List. I can't imagine her being in your situation, the pain it would give me to see her "unevenly yoked" to a control group like the JW's. I certainly empathasize with you and hope you find a way of climbing out of the cave. You have so much to offer the world and so much to partake of!

  some have, like the single mom, have such a negative experience with them.

  Well you guys have finally got to me! Gonna make me get on my mounting blocks and scream.. Who the hell do JW elders think they are to sit and examine the personal lives of the faithfull? If I recall the Jdubs were critical of Catholics going to confession, but what is the difference confessing to three undereducated, self righteous "elders"?

  Personally, nothing in a religion should set out to destroy the dignity of a person, no matter what the crime or "sin". Noone has the authority to assume they have the right to impose their narrow minded interpretation of the holy writ on someone else.

  Anyone going to an elder to "confess" is enabling the dysfunctional system.

  I'm sure by now I'm preaching to the choir

  Good News

  matt.24:14. this good news will be preached in all the earth and then the end will come.. we have all remembered that verse,studied that verse and preached that verse.. the wts uses that verse to keep the jws going door to door.. of course,the wts also says we (everyone on earth)must become a jw in order to have gods favor.. i was having a discussion with a born again christian and he said the good news that is to be preached is about jesus having come and having been put to death for our transgressions.

  so that we can now aproach god on the basis of the sacrifice.

  in the name of jesu christ.. the wts says the good news to be preached is about the kingdom that is to come.. what do you think the good news that jesus spoke of is?.

  of course our buddy apostle paul said the "good news" had already gone out to "all the nations". So it was a done deal long ago! on the other hand, didn't Jesus say the "kingdom was within you"?

  pick up that Stadavarious (sp?) and play what ever tune ya choose!

  Some would say that the "end" for christianity came when xtians refused to accept Muhammed as the "apostle". Reminds me of the "close out sale" the local furniture store has every month. Well actually it alternates with a "moving sale" sometimes! never moves and never closes out, unless you stretch the definitions like a rubber $3 bill.

  it is revealed that the society wants to keep reports of child abuse very private within jw circles.

  given the term "religion" means "coming to gether" (hush Waiting, not that kind) what would a "disorganized religion" look like? The idea that organization inheritantly constrains spirituality or is automatically Machiavellian is a product of protestant prejudice against "the law". Understandably, protestants rebelled against the excesses of Catholocism, but IMHO they painted with too broad a brush when they identified the laws of the church with the laws of God.

  Organization, in and of itself, is not to blame. Pogo got it right, the enemy is us!

  Oh, yeah, why am I here..? considering I jettisoned the mothership over 40 year ago, had lots of time to "recover" invesitgated lots of belief systems, got all the answers to what is "reality", guess I just can't help myself from going through a second childhood! You see, I was always the kid who got sent out to the hall for making wise cracks! Dam, should have gone on to Sat Night Live and made my millions! but no, I just hang around where the stumbled vimmen is and look for hungry honeys!!

  What are the reasons?

  hi all,.

  someone asked me the other day why i am so interested in reading about jws,ex jws and things that are going on with the wts.. i think for the most part,only those who have been involved with the wts can understand why we are so interested in the subject.. of course having believed everything the wts has told us over the years and dedicating our lives to it kept us tied in with them.. what are the different reasons that you all have for continuing to be preocupied with the wts?.
