Connections: remarkable sounds of the past, still seen, reproducible and tsunamis

there are a string of news items that come together in my mind to help me visualize what happened by way of connections.. the news of the inflationary stage of the early universe triggering gravity waves, that appear in our sensors like a pattern against the background.. the sale of the stradivarius viola still making unsurpassed glorious sounds after 300 years and going for 45 kk.

Well, prologos was completely wrong regarding tides occuring as a result of standing waves i.e. constructive/destructive wave interference. The fact there was no evidence provided to back up the assertion and that the incorrect terminology, understanding and inability to reexamine his position was rather telling. This precedent should be considered in subsequent claims of "understanding" and "education"

As for this topic, clearly there is resonance in musical instruments and a correlation to standing wave theory is valid.

So, 1 for 2 on specific examples. As for the new age woo, let the buyer beware...

These bodies have strong gravitational fields that diminish with distance in space and which act to alter the shape of an equipotential surface on the Earth. This deformation has a fixed spatial orientation relative to the influencing body. The Earth's rotation relative to this shape causes the daily tidal cycle. Gravitational forces follow an inverse-square law (force is inversely proportional to the square of the distance), but tidal forces are inversely proportional to the cube of the distance. The ocean surface moves because of the changing tidal equipotential, rising when the tidal potential is high, which occurs on the parts of the Earth nearest to and furthest from the Moon. When the tidal equipotential changes, the ocean surface is no longer aligned with it, so the apparent direction of the vertical shifts. The surface then experiences a down slope, in the direction that the equipotential has risen.

Tides are a function of gravity.

There is no mention of standing wave phenonmena with regard to forces that cause tides.

There is mention of standing waves in areas due to tidal and other currents interfering but this is dependant on localized features, and is not a global cause or effect.

it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.

if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

after leaving the cult of jw's or waking up to ttatt, it is a struggle to trust people again.

i am personally starting from scratch although i am still in.

each moment i spend with my current jw friends, i know they are all smiles and loving towards me because of my good status with the wt.. outside a cult you still find fake people and it is also a struggle to find true friends and it is even worst when we've been hit hard from people we used to trust and care for.. .

it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.

if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

Is there anything you could do forever that wouln't get boring?

not sure when i came to this conclusion but i can't imagine living forever.

after a while i think i would be completly bored with everything.. not saying i wouln't like to live for a few hundred years or maybe even a few thousand if i could travel through space and discover other universes star trek style.

but the thought of living forever sounds like it would eventually become a complete drag.. maybe i'm wrong, maybe after a thousand years or so you would foregt all the stuff that happend at the beginning and just start over in an infinite loop..

Even if I could live forever I still wouldn't understand women, but I doubt it would ever get boring ;)

Forever is a long time. I'd give it a shot. As has been said, there is much to learn and forgetting, human.

But in the long run, the likelihood of a malicious, accidental or tsunami induced death makes forever seem improbable. This assumes a less than perfect world, which isn't a stretch. To think otherwise seems fanciful...

Atheists, here is a 'balls' question ---even for all---

it is very difficult to knock a ball into a hole (like golf), throw it into a receiver's hands (american football) intercept it and knock it over the fence (american cricket).

or to put a sattelite at the right time at the right speed in the right direction in the right place to have it orbit another body, so :.

what ingenious natural & process is it, than can get 9+ zillions bodies to get into the right orbit simultaniously or sequentially and have them remain there for billions of years?
