KM - Local Needs
by TheListener ini thought it would be interesting for those of us who still attend the meetings to let everyone know what our local needs part was/will be this week.
(the km allots 15 minutes to local needs at this weeks service meeting).
ours will be on meeting attendance.

the youth book recommended getting up and doing something like taking the rubbish (trash) out....our house woulda been spotless but no one woulda got any sleep

recommend some new music

have you found some new band or artist that you would reccomend we listen to...for this to work we would need to know what style of music you normally listen to and then we can know if its what we would enjoy...eg.
i like pink floyd...genesis...yes...etc.....................and have just found mercury rev......brill

Fighting experience?
by bebu inthe other night our son confessed that he had been in an after-school fight last friday.
some small kid was irritated with my son (who's nearly 14) and called on the services of a big friend to beat up my son.
(i actually saw the fight (sort of) as i drove past the school that day to go do errands, and pondered on whether i should stop... i didn't... because i actually wasn't sure it was a fight; it was a lot of kids in a loose crowd).

i was taught to turn the other cheek...fortunately for me i was a fast runner...but i was studying with a witness mothers boys and one of them was getting regularly beaten up at school and his mother was telling him he was taking one for the team....well ok one maybe but surely not every other day...so i did some research and found that the bible does not say you have to take whatever someone gives you but allows you to lash out in order to get out...the understanding of turn the other cheek applies to insults not to muggings beatings rape...you do not have to take that....weaved it into a public talk...next time boy gets attacked at school he hits back..he was a big lad..he only had to do it once

I've avoided the elders so far...but could this all change on SATURDAY?
by logansrun inwell, it has been almost three years since i silently and dramatically vanished from the world of the watchtower.
moving an hour away from my congregation's territory and not answering phone calls was all i needed to avoid having to wear the letter "a" on my chest.
but, that could all change this saturday.
